History
The Photographer: Founded in 1992 by Lou and Veronica Coetzer. The company started as a small portrait studio in Tzaneen, but within 2 years moved to Gauteng as a central location to re

ach all outskirts of South Africa. Specialising in traditional canvas portraits, the business expanded rapidly over the next two decades, with studios in both Erasmuskloof Pretoria and Sandton City Johannesburg, and a team of photographers working with an international footprint.

23 Years on from its humble beginning in a small town in the Northern Province, The Photographer is still a family business, owned and operated by the original founders and three children. The Photographer at Pretoria currently co-owned and managed by Father and daughter team of Lou and Monique, and for the last decade they have been part of the team that makes up The Photographer, which includes an assistant manager and office manager, an editor, Photographers and the production team. The Photographer specializes in high-end portrait, commercial and industrial photography servicing clients from all corners of South Africa, and the rest of the world. Our Product:

The finished product is a traditional canvas, finished with a protected heat seal layer, making it cleanable with water, and the only product on the market carrying a lifetime guarantee against discolouring or fading. The traditional canvas has been a trademark of The Photographer since its inception, providing customers the best possible product with the highest level of photographic and design expertise.
