Some photograms of the joyous Knapse Kêrel aka Black Jacks 🤔

Part-time, I also teach photography to information design students at the University of Pretoria. Here, the darkroom still lives and I get to play in it too.

What is a photogram? It is a lensless photograph which makes use of light sensitive paper, the object, and controlled exposure to light. In the the actual object is placed directly onto light sensitive paper and then exposed to light via a light source (located directly above) for several seconds. Once processed, the areas which were exposed to light turn black and the lack of light/the shadow of the object remain unchanged/white. Pretty much, you end up with a shadow photograph but in the negative version.
