Come to work with my and RTC STUDIOS for the our shoot with Ntate Caiphus Semenya in his home and see what went down. Shout to my longtime collaborator Dr David Blaq for always indulging my ideas. Cebolenkosi Mtshali🇿🇦 for the film Themba Makumbela for the chops and Tshepo Zitha for the leadership.

Have you ever walked into a room and you just feel it warm cover you and you knew it was a special space ? Well that how we felt on the day of this shoot, we walked into a Tate’s home and we scouted the space for the shots we had planned, there was a dining room that we were looking at for a shoot and it made sense to David and I as we wanted to create a frame in a frame shot, as we looked across the door we was this warm light coming from the yellow windows. We instantly looked at each other and knew, we had to have those windows in our shot. We immediately changed the approach and reframed the shot to this here moment.

Beauty Test x Kayleigh-Jade Rose

One of my favourite things that helped me grow and shape my photography has to be testing and collaborative efforts. I believe we create our best when there are no limitations or guidelines to follow. Test helped me understand how light works and how to shape it for a beauty shoot, this also helps me prepare for future project.

To day a legend in music turns 87, many of us have grown up to his songs and familiar sound of home and comfort that comes with his sound.

For about 8 years I have been chasing a passion project to photograph Ntate Caiphus Semenya as I have been a fan of his music from a young age when I just liked the songs with out understanding the full meanings of the messages embedded in the music. I vividly remember my first experience of seeing his live performance at Diamond and doorings in Kimberly in 2014 with Mme Letta. I was captivated that I’m surprised there I even took photos of them. This was at the early stages of my career as a photographer,(if you scroll low enough on my feed you will see the proof) I promised myself that I will have a portrait session with them. This is the first set of my passion project where I spent the day with Ntate at his home listening to amazing stories of music and legends from one who lived amongst them. Thank you Nthabiseng Majozi for answer my call. To my team thank you for sticking besides

Imagine what Ntate said when I told him about this pose. It too some courage for me to him this pose and he called me craze. To paraphrase him he said “ Ke bo tsenwa” hahahaha but we still did it.

7 years of RTC STUDIOS

7 years ago I bet on my self in a way I had no before. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey of building RTC STUDIOS to where it is today as a leading content production studio. We have had the joy of shaping how content is produced and enjoyed and we will continue to influence the industry and rooms we walk into.

To every contributor who has walked this journey with us thank you and to everyone who has trusted us to their personal or brand stories thank you 🙏🏾. Shout out to those who speak our names in rooms we are not in. No every hero wears a cape 🥃
