There is something special about photographing a family simply being together.
This recent session with a mom and her two children took place under beautifully moody skies, creating soft, flattering light that was perfect for portraits. While I always love capturing beautiful images, my favourite moments are often the genuine interactions.. the laughter, cuddles, conversations, and little expressions that reveal the connection between people.
The highlight of this session was definitely seeing her son relax and enjoy himself in front of the camera. I was told beforehand that he rarely smiles for photos, but once he settled into the experience, we captured so many natural smiles and joyful moments.
The greatest compliment a photographer can receive is knowing that the images helped someone see and appreciate what they already have. After receiving the gallery, Dad sent a message saying that seeing his son smile brought tears to his eyes and the photos reminded him how blessed he is with his beautiful family.
Those are the moments that make this work worthwhile.
