Swellendam Camera Club

Swellendam Camera Club Open to all photography enthusiasts in Swellendam. Send us an email for more information.

Whether you are playing around with a cell phone camera, or you made photography a career, you are welcome to join us. Each month we have a set theme for photo entries, along with an open category and a cell phone category. We aim to learn from each other and grow as photographers - being hobbyists or professionals. We also try to have an outing each month that will relate to the next month's set

theme. Keep up with this page as we will post interesting links for photography tips, tricks and ideas.

Our different categories for entries have changed a little this year.

The Set Subject is still there (see pinned post for the year's subjects/topics.) However, since many members take photos with their cellphones in any case, we've scrapped the Cellphone Category completely. The Open Category is now split into 2: Wildlife; and General. (Birds are now "measured" against birds... bees... and butterflies. 😉 )

And therefore, with no further ado, the "General" photos that stood out this month:
Photo 1: Valmai le Grange - Blue hour
Photo 2: Ian Fraser-Jones - Enter the danger zone

Congratulations!

Our next monthly meeting will be on Thursday, 19 February 2026 @ 18h00.

The Swellendam Camera Club will meet this Thursday, 22 January 2026, at 18h00, with the set subject being "Books and/or board games".

This is a club for those who "see" in squares or rectangles, "see" the beauty, the ugly, the strange or the amazing around us and capture that glimpse in time.

You don't need fancy equipment to "see". 📱📸
