Hello everyone! It's Carl and I hope you are all doing well. It has been great to talk to a lot of you individually over the course of the last year but I am now (finally) coming back to Zambia.
I will be visiting MBSS on Sunday 22nd September so if you are still at school I will see you there!
If not, I will be in Chipata from 12th to 24th September and Lusaka for a very short time on 11th and 25th because I will be flying from there.
So send me a message on Facebook (Carl Olavesen) or WhatsApp (+44 7902 248 432) and we can try to meet up!

Here is one final post which I thought it was important for you all to see before you go back to school next week and you are no longer able to access Facebook because you will not have your phones.

First, due to popular demand and also because I did not have these when I was with you in Zambia, I have added some photos of my house and surroundings with labels for each one so that you can see how a normal person in the UK stays.

Secondly, the next volunteers are arriving soon. I know that they will be very excited to meet all of you and I have every confidence that you will make it easy for them to teach you not least by reporting to school on time.

Finally, speaking to the Music Development Association, this is your first term and the time when you will make the biggest difference. Remember: you are a vital part of the future and each of you individually have the unprecedented opportunity to completely transform the school. Don't hesitate to come up with new ideas to make it grow, like buying a new recorder or having external music lessons, and presenting these ideas to the headteacher to gain approval. Make the most of the opportunity by starting from the very beginning of term - on Monday at 15:30 I expect to see your first activity running efficiently and professionally.

So, once again, it has been my greatest pleasure to meet all of you. Work hard this term and I wish you all the best for the rest of your lives. Good Luck!

Hello Everyone! Finally, after a long time, I have published this post. I have been uploading all of my photos of Mambwe and relevant activities to this page and I have nearly uploaded all of them. There may be more photos coming but if there are some photos that you think I have but have not uploaded, please message me and I will try to find them. I have tried to add everyone to this page, but if someone has slipped my mind, please feel free to invite your friends so that they can also see the photos

To the Choir I say: If you keep rehearsing and working hard, even through term 3 and term 1, I have every confidence that you will go to nationals next year when you are all in grade 12. Teach each other the new songs I taught you and the challenge will improve your vocal skills. Just remember the reason why you sing - because you enjoy it. Never let any judge take that away from you.

To the Rugby Club I say: Congratulations this year but remember there is always next year and if you keep training you can only get better. So for next year I expect you to continue to go onwards and upwards. And all the best for the internationals!

I now have to apologise for a mistake that I made. I told most of you that it costs more than K15 000 to get a return flight to the UK. I was wrong. That is what my flights cost but if you book it for the right time of year you can get it for less than K5 000. That means that when you get jobs, every month, if you put aside a K200 it is only 2 years before you have enough money to travel. If you are going to do this, contact me and I can tell you how to sort out your travel arrangements, and you must stay with me while you are here. I hope to see you sooner than we expect! And maybe even I will visit you in Zambia sooner than I expected so watch out for a message from me so that we can connect when I arrive.

But for now, don't let any of the hard work that you, me, your other teachers and your parents put in, go to waste. Use your skills and your time wisely - they are more valuable to you than money. You are all very talented and I expect to see great things from all of you, just don't wait around for good things to happen to you. Remember, God helps those who help themselves. So, take action. Find your opportunities. Use them for yourself and there is no limit to what you can become!
