YOUR SOLAR FARM IS VALUABLE. YOUR SECURITY STRATEGY SHOULD BE EXCELLENT.

Solar energy is becoming one of the fastest-growing areas of energy investment worldwide.

In 2025 alone, global solar PV additions surpassed 600 GW, taking total installed solar capacity to approximately 2.8 TW. Global investment in solar PV — including utility-scale and rooftop systems — was expected to reach approximately US$450 billion in 2025, making solar the single largest area of energy investment.
And Africa is part of this transformation.

In Zambia, investment in utility-scale solar is accelerating. Projects such as the 20 MW Garneton North Solar Project and the 32 MWp Ilute Solar Project demonstrate the growing scale of solar infrastructure being developed in the country. Zambia's GET FiT programme is also targeting 120 MW of renewable energy capacity, including solar.

But there is another question that needs to be asked:
How do you effectively secure and monitor an asset that can stretch across hundreds of hectares?
A large solar plant can contain tens or even hundreds of thousands of individual panels, depending on its capacity and panel technology.

For example, a hypothetical 100 MW solar plant using 550 W panels would require approximately 182,000 panels.
That is an enormous physical footprint to monitor from the ground.
And solar installations can face real security challenges. Recent reporting from the solar sector has highlighted theft of cables and conductors from photovoltaic installations, while broader reporting shows organised criminals increasingly targeting power and renewable-energy infrastructure.

THIS IS WHERE SKY VIEW DRONE SERVICES COMES IN.

Sky View Drone Services provides enterprise-grade drone solutions for large-scale solar infrastructure.
We don't simply send a drone into the sky.
We design the operation.

Our team can help you determine:
• How your solar facility can be monitored efficiently from the air
• Which enterprise drone platform is appropriate for the size and security requirements of the site
• How frequently aerial patrols should be conducted
• Which areas require priority monitoring
• How aerial surveillance can complement existing security teams and infrastructure
• How to document perimeter breaches, suspicious activity and visible damage
• How to conduct high-resolution infrastructure inspections
• How thermal and other specialist sensors can support asset inspection and anomaly detection
• How flight operations can be planned safely, efficiently and within applicable aviation requirements

We also assist with the regulatory, operational and technical planning required to deploy a professional drone programme — from identifying the right equipment to planning missions and deploying the solution effectively.

THE OBJECTIVE IS SIMPLE:
Give your security and operations teams eyes where people cannot easily be.

Instead of relying exclusively on patrol vehicles and personnel moving across an enormous site, drones can provide rapid aerial situational awareness, high-resolution documentation and repeatable monitoring of large areas.

For solar developers, operators, security companies and asset managers, this means transforming aerial data into an additional layer of security, inspection and asset intelligence.
Because protecting a solar plant isn't only about protecting the panels. It is about protecting the investment, infrastructure, generation capacity and revenue attached to the entire facility.

DON'T WAIT FOR A SECURITY INCIDENT TO DISCOVER THE BLIND SPOTS.

HOW TO LEGALLY FLY A DRONE IN ZAMBIA?

Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), commonly known as drones, are regulated to ensure safety, security and accountability in airspace operations. Compliance with aviation regulations is mandatory for all operators, whether for commercial, Governmental or recreational use. In Zambia, RPAS operations are Governed by the Zambia Civil Aviation Authority (ZCAA), which sets the legal framework, licensing requirements and operational standards.

NEWS ALERT ‼️

CAA ROLLS OUT DIGITAL SAFETY OCCURRENCE REPORTING SYSTEM

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has rolled out the Digital Safety Occurrence Reporting System (DSORS) to the Zambian aviation industry, strengthening the way safety occurrences are reported, analysed and managed.

DSORS provides airlines, aircraft operators, service providers and other aviation stakeholders with a faster, simpler and more secure way of reporting safety occurrences such as runway incursions, bird strikes, FOD, fuel spills, equipment failures and wildlife hazards.

The system will enable CAA to identify emerging safety risks earlier, analyse trends and support timely corrective action before incidents develop into accidents.

Speaking during the rollout, CAA Director General Captain Derrick F. Luembe said the system marks an important step in strengthening Zambia’s aviation safety oversight by ensuring that safety information is captured and acted upon in a timely and effective manner.

The rollout aligns with ICAO Annex 19 – Safety Management and supports Zambia’s State Safety Programme by strengthening data-driven safety oversight and promoting a stronger culture of reporting, learning and continuous improvement.
