The Art of Seeing
Captured in the heart of Botswana’s Okavango Delta.
How much of a photograph is captured in the field, and how much is shaped afterwards?
Swipe to see both.
The first image is my final interpretation of this tiny dik-dik standing quietly in the golden grasslands of the Okavango Delta. The second is the original frame, straight from the camera.
For me, editing isn’t about changing reality—it’s about recreating the feeling of that moment: the warm morning light, the stillness, and the quiet curiosity in those watchful eyes.
Which image captures the feeling of the moment better—1️⃣ or 2️⃣? I’d love to hear why.
A heartfelt thank you to Africa Barefoot Safaris for organising an unforgettable safari, and to Kwando Safaris for their exceptional hospitality and guiding. Experiences like these make moments like this possible.
