🚛 BIG LOAD. BIG PLANNING. BIG POWER.

Is this the biggest load we’ve ever seen rolling down the highway? It’s definitely up there! 🤯

At 16 feet wide, 260 feet long, and weighing a massive 301,000 kg, this incredible heavy haul for the NorLand Group has been months in the making, with planning underway since March.

With four pilot cars and Highway 5A shut down from Merritt to the BC Hydro site on the Douglas Lake Road, moving this beast was a serious logistical operation.

One of the most impressive moments? Watching this experienced crew navigate a corner and squeeze through a gate measuring just 18’3” wide. The precision, coordination, and teamwork required to pull off a move like this is something else! 👏

Big Power Films had the opportunity to tag along with to capture a firsthand look at this incredible operation. Moves like this are a reminder of just how much planning and skill goes into moving some of the biggest loads on BC’s highways.

🚂 IS IT REAL OR IS IT A MODEL? 👀

Who doesn’t love trains?! 🚂🔥

Big Power Films was out taking in the Model & LEGO Show in Chilliwack this past weekend, and these HO scale model railways were next level!

I remember the 4x8 train set we had as kids, watching those little locomotives make their way around the track. What we saw this weekend was on a whole different level! From incredibly detailed locomotives and realistic rail yards to custom-built landscapes and miles of track, some of these setups had you doing a double take just to figure out if you were looking at the real thing or a model. 🤯

Train clubs from all over the Lower Mainland came together to show off their incredible layouts, craftsmanship, and passion for model railroading. The attention to detail was seriously impressive, and you could spend hours checking out all the little things happening across these miniature worlds.

It's amazing what people can create when passion, creativity, and a little engineering come together!

🏁💨 FOREST RALLY ACTION IN MERRITT! 🚗🌲

Last weekend, Merritt’s Forest Service Roads (FSRs) were taken over by some seriously cool rally cars, pushing hard and flying down the gravel roads at incredible speeds! 🔥

There’s nothing quite like watching these purpose-built machines kick up dust, slide through corners, and tackle the twists and turns of the backroads. From the sound of the engines to the flying gravel, forest rally racing brings a whole different kind of horsepower to the Nicola Valley! 🤘

As a company that spends plenty of time out in the backroads capturing BC from the air and on the ground, we love seeing these roads put to a different kind of use.

The Cat 325 Next Gen Excavator is definitely one of our favourite units in the fleet. There’s just something about getting behind the controls of a machine like this that never gets old! 🦾

The long weekend at the cabin is in the books, the axe has been put to work, and it’s time to trade the mountain views for the daily grind again! 🔥🌲

Nothing beats a few days unplugged in the backcountry, enjoying the fresh air, good company, and a little cabin life. Now it’s back to work, already counting down until the next trip back up the mountain!
