Construction season is underway across Alberta, and work zones need your full attention.

Slowing down and staying alert helps protect road workers, emergency responders, and everyone travelling through the area safely.

Here are a few reminders when driving through construction zones:

🚧 Slow down and obey posted speed limits
🚧 Watch for workers, equipment, and changing traffic patterns
🚧 Leave extra space between vehicles
🚧 Avoid distractions and keep your eyes on the road
🚧 Be patient because a few extra minutes can save a life

Fines for speeding in construction zones can be doubled when workers are present.

Let’s work together to keep Alberta roads safe this summer. Drive smart, stay alert, and give crews the space they need to do their jobs safely.

It has been raining cats and dogs out there, Red Deer!

After such a dry stretch, the rain is welcomeβ€”but it flows straight into our storm drains and into the river. That’s why only rain and snowmelt belong in the storm drain.

Rainy days are a great reminder that small actions can make a big difference:

β€’ Install a rain barrel and collect rainwater at home (get up to $50 back through our rebate program!)
β€’ Keep storm drains clear of leaves and debris
β€’ Help prevent pollutants like oil, chemicals, and litter from washing into our waterways

Together, we can protect the Red Deer River, local wildlife, and our drinking water sources.

You just know the Weston Dynasty is just frothing at the mouth πŸ’‹ in anticipation of getting even more money πŸ’° out of us.

So the GST credit, theoretically, was paid out of the total money πŸ’° collected in GST.

So where does the, wait, let me get it right here, the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit credit... that's a mouthful, money πŸ’³ come from? Oh that's right, the photocopier.

Is Canada Post on strike again and I missed it? My parcel has been sitting somewhere in Red Deer for three freaking days, including today, and I still haven't received it. It's small enough they could stuff it in my mailbox. And we wonder why Canada Post is losing billions of dollars. Oh but we need Canada Post! For what I could lose my parcel without their help. And of course you call there 800 number and you get a stupid computer answering the phone. I wonder what the person, who normally answers the phone, is doing instead of picking up the phone? Three days!
