We are based in Northern Virginia, but happy to travel everywhere for love. We specialize in weddings of all shapes and sizes, including elopements and mini weddings. We are storytellers who capture beautiful and unexpected moments unique to you. Some people call this "photojournalism" or "documentary photography" -- we call it a natural approach that lets you be you in that "Two Sweet" space, without a lot of stiff posing or pretense. We want you to look back at your photos and remember what it felt like on your wedding day -- every emotion and all of the love surrounding you as you began your new life together. Did you know the primary colors of light are red, green, and blue, and that mixing them makes WHITE?

Did I know that would happen the second I chose the prism? No. Was I pleasantly surprised and then excited to get it *just right* once I realized what the tools I had at hand could do? YES.

A little bit of luck + the right tools + knowing color theory (special thanks to my theatrical lighting design college degree) = magic!!

A little over five years ago, Conor reached out looking for someone to capture his proposal to Caitlin at the Spanish Steps. After a discovery call, we had devised a plan, and I couldn't wait to finally meet them. Their proposal was one of my favorites -- I still remember it today.

Fast forward to present time, I was thrilled to hear from Conor when he reached out again about 5th year anniversary photos in the same location AND Caitlin wore her wedding gown (which I'm obsessed with!!)

There's no better feeling than having past clients come back to chronicle more of their lives. I love the images we made at this most recent session

I love learning little bits of information about the couples who choose to work with me. Becca & Ben had some pretty amazing favorite colors --
Ben: IKB blue, electric blue, lavender, vermillion; Becca: cerulean, blue green.

So, when we were in the National Portrait Gallery for their engagement session, there was one spot in particular (image 1) where I thought I could incorporate a lot of blues, and I'm pretty pleased with the end result! Do you know where the first image was taken in the gallery?

The rest from this particular set are just fun, colorful, and energetic, and I love them. :) Becca & Ben, it was a joy to create with you both. I can't wait for your wedding!

We spent a lot of time in pre-production, talking through all of the transitions, ensuring Elizabeth and Peter Beckman had *the best* wedding day, where they could be fully present, soaking up every moment. I don’t think it could have gone any better!

Ira took his final bow with the Richmond Ballet yesterday after a twenty year career!!

I worked with the for nearly twenty years myself, holding positions all over the lighting department from electrician, to spotlight operator, to lighting director. I had the pleasure of watching Ira dance time and time again, and I feel like our careers with the company ran parallel for a time. We got together a couple months ago to make some creative portraits and I LOVE what we came away with.

Lane & Thomas' story spans decades.

It was a real privilege to witness and document this day. So many emotions, so much love, so much good energy... and so many friends of mine that I hadn't seen in YEARS. I've known Thomas since high school (theschrat, I'm in denial about how long ago that actually was), and getting to hug some familiar faces on your wedding day was extra special.
