☁️ Don't cancel your photo session just because the forecast says "overcast."

Some of my favorite galleries have been captured under cloudy skies.

Those soft gray clouds act like nature's biggest diffuser, creating beautiful, even light that eliminates harsh shadows, reduces squinting, and makes colors look rich and vibrant. Whether it's family photos, couples, seniors, or portraits, overcast days often produce the most timeless images.

So if your session lands on a cloudy day, don't worry, sometimes it might just be the perfect weather for creating something beautiful.

I can’t believe Anna is 15.

For so many years, it was just the two of us learning, growing, and figuring life out together. I’ve had the privilege of watching every version of her, from the little girl striking a pose at the children’s museum, to bouncing until she couldn’t catch her breath in inflatable houses, to hugging anyone who looked like they needed one.

Somewhere along the way, those little moments slowly became bigger ones. She’s no longer a little girl, but she’s not quite a woman either. She’s in that beautiful in-between where Monopoly games share space with makeup tutorials, bike rides turn into TikTok dances, and childhood wonder begins to meet the realities of growing up.

Watching her become her own person has been the greatest privilege of my life. Raising her hasn’t always been easy, but every sacrifice, every late night, every hard season has been worth it to see the kind, funny, compassionate, and strong young woman she’s becoming.

Anna, I hope you always know how deeply you are loved. I couldn’t be more proud to be your mom, and I can’t wait to see where life takes you next. No matter how old you get, you’ll always be my girl.
