Today we saw another round of severe weather. Even hours after the storms rolled through we can still see the hardest hit counties in this image based on data from the State of Maryland. If we zoom in Image 2 shows the hardest hit zip codes. These areas include areas around Ellicott City, MD in Howard County, Southwest Baltimore City and Dundalk, MD. The yellow and orange shaded areas in Image 2 indicate anywhere from 500 to nearing 4, 000 residents without power at this time.

We are combing through the thousands of photographs that were taken this weekend as part of the Air Show for Sail250 Maryland & Airshow Baltimore.

Today, we had the opportunity to speak with members of both the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and the RAF Red Arrows at Martin State Airport. One thing that really stood out was just how many people are involved in making these performances possible. Beyond the pilots, there are engineers, flight surgeons, public affairs teams, mission support personnel, operations staff, and countless others working behind the scenes.

The Red Arrows travel with more than 120 engineering technicians and support personnel, and making the trip across the Atlantic takes approximately four to five days. It was fascinating to learn about the logistics involved in bringing the team to the United States. They also shared that the U.S. air shows they participate in are among the largest they perform at.

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels are equally impressive. Their demonstration is an incredible display of precision, discipline, teamwork, and professionalism, showcasing the very best of Naval Aviation.

We can't wait to share more photos from an unforgettable weekend.
