This quote really spoke to my heart and my fears. I feel this way so many times. I'm scared to really say what I think or feel.

I never quite put it together that even when I stay silent I am still afraid.

Today's art is paired with a rock because it reminded me of a tombstone at first glance and then I realize how beautiful the details were when I looked closer.

This rock has traveled so far in order to be surrounded by others like it and different from it. It is also in close companionship with gorgeous blooming flowers and and a velvety lawn.

This is not a place of death, but a garden full of life.

So the choice is yours, be heard or be silent. Either way there are opportunities to examine and embrace choice and beauty.

Running from what is woven into our very existence here on this planet is difficult. If not impossible. It is there, every waking moment as a constant companion.

However, there is the CHOICE to turn around and face it.

Face the shadow side, the darkness, the thoughts that wake you up in the middle of the night.

The CHOICES you make during the conscious moments will be the underlying energies that guide you in your subconscious mind.

In today's art, I chose Water and Mystery as the medium to convey Brene Brown's message. Our lives are the surface and our stories are the rocks we flow over time and time again.

The CHOICE is to continue to flow over the same rocks or to choose a different path. The surface tension will indicate the CHOICES we make.

They say the kitchen is the “heart of the home” and I have to agree. Maybe it’s because it's always full of good things, or because it's a great central place to catchup with loved ones...

Either way, some of my fondest memories took place in my Mom's kitchen in particular.

Today, I'm realizing that even though kitchens are gathering places, many times they don't have any art in them.

Now, cooking is an art... So I get it that there is already art in the room, right? 🧐

But why not pair art with art?

Make your kitchen a place that inspires people to connect, converse and refresh by adding simple line art or more complex abstract art and/or anything in between!

Getting up every day and working from home is a challenge sometimes and it takes a bit of motivation (and sometimes a lot of coffee!) to get going in the morning.

Bright and cheerful art on my wall helps me smile and lighten up. Face the day with optimism and enthusiasm 😁. Basically it makes me feel happy!
