It’s going to be hard to top this year. We knew Sacred would be special but it’s hard to put into words what this lil place means to us. Over the weekend, there was a fire right behind our building that could’ve taken Sacred with it. Thanks to the work of some incredibly hard working firefighters and first responders, the building still stands. 🙌🏻

So today I’m taking a moment to express how thankful I am for this team. A crew of amazing women banded together to empower others. Taking confidence and self care to a new level. I’m proud of us for how much we’ve grown in this short time together and I’m excited to see what all the future holds.

There has been lots of discussion in the photography community (and the world, let’s be honest) about sharing photos of minors on social media.

My stance: It is the parent’s choice. Every session I photograph, I ask the parents if they want to keep their images private OR if I’m able to share them. There is zero pressure either way, I just want clear communication on your preferences and I will always respect your privacy.

We can keep your gallery 100% private, just show anonymous images, or I can even photoshop Shrek on your faces. I truly don’t care lol. I only care that you feel seen, heard, and respected.

You’ll never guess how my session ended last night 🥹 When Luke messaged me earlier in the week asking if he could propose to Chelsey at their family session, I about lost it. It was sooo fun to plan this moment and we had the most gorgeous lakeside sunset as a backdrop. It may have been 97 degrees but it was well worth it 🥰

Not my normal content, but I believe it’s worth sharing. In 2023, we took a family vacation to Florida for a friends wedding and we recreated a photo of my dad and I on the beach from 1997. In my photo, I’m just about to turn 1 year old. In Gemma’s, it was the day after her 2nd birthday. It is WILD how similar the photos look!

I won’t lie, it is a little bittersweet to look at. I’m turning 30 in a few weeks, which is about how old my dad was in his photo with me. I’ve come to realize that this time period *right* now, is what I’ll look back on forever. My kids are growing, my parents are still healthy, and we can all spend time together whenever we want. I’ll end it right there because it’s too early to be sappy. But here’s my reminder: take the photo, love your people, reminisce on the good times

Want to watch me struggle to open a box for a full minute? Jk, look how freaking cute our family photo prints turned out! Brandy Ward Photography does such a great job with us every year 🥰 I was WAY overdue to refresh our photo frames and now it looks like I actually have two children instead of 1. lol.

They also told me they were “awkward” in front of the camera and then proceeded to be all cute and s**t. So for those of you worried how you’ll look in front of the camera, just show up, love on your person, and I’ll make the magic happen 😉

Now that I’ve recovered from pulling an all-nighter at a birth and being awake for 27 hours… hey! Here’s some sneak peeks 🤪

We did Tatum’s “sitter” session at the wildflower field except she didn’t want to sit on the grass or smile or do anything but sit in mom’s arms. Lol. And you know what? That’s totally fine. I’m always a big fan of the snuggly shots anyway. 🥰 Never panic when kids aren’t in the mood for photos. My approach is to shift the focus to a more play-centered session where they don’t have to hold still and smile. It’s never “just pictures.” Most of the time, I tell kids we’re going on a walk, finding treasure, or just simply playing and running around. Moms and dads, trust the process and join the play. ❤️
