Keeley, where the hell have you been, locaaaa!?

As soon as she said she had twilight books to bring, I knew Keeley and I would immediately click. But WHAT do you mean she was just a tiny lil girl when these books/movies came out?!? I had to tell her the nostalgic stories of being in middle school and going to the midnight releases, having a life sized Edward poster on my bedroom door, even the trusty ole team Edward tshirt. Guys, it was a whole thing. Now I feel very old. 🙈🤣
session ended with thunder and rain clouds and a very appropriately timed joke of vampires playing baseball. But ya know what, it made me think that maybe the kids are gonna be all right.

Being up before the sun means I get (a little bit more) caught up on sneak peeks. And with today being Halloween, what a better time to share Andi’s sitter session? 😍 I could just eat her up!!

Look, I get it. Extended family sessions can feel like a lot. Trying to coordinate everyone’s schedules to get one free evening off for 12+ people, figuring out what everyone will wear, and trying to keep little kids happy to smile for a picture… there’s a reason these only happen a couple times (or even just ONCE) for families over several years. It’s a hell of a lot to coordinate!

But who said extended family sessions have to be stuffy and boring? Who said everyone had to hold still and smile at the camera? Sure, we’ve got the photo that will be framed on the mantle, but the fun and memorable parts are what come in between and after those staple portraits.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with the Waters family basically since the beginning of time between weddings, maternity sessions, newborns, and now everyone all together. When Kellie proposed the idea of “ending” their session with s’mores, I knew it would be magic. The key to a fun session is keeping the pressure low. I know I’d be a lot more cooperative if I knew we were going to grandmas house for s’mores instead of going to grandmas to smile for a picture. Let me be a fly on the wall while you love on your people.

And for the adult kids, this is your mom’s Super Bowl. Be excited with her. Make sure she’s feeling the love too. ❤️

All these maternity sessions recently mean I’ll have a baby boom in a couple weeks 😍 I’m obsessed with this simple studio maternity session I had with Crystal Mead the other day. Can’t wait to meet this sweet baby.

I’ve got a super busy day today! Starting the morning with an extended family session and then I’ve got my (sold out) fall minis this afternoon/evening.
