Got a NASCAR ride? How about a seat in F1? Are you a member of the private club, The Circuit? If you answered no, no and no, your chances of racing the Circuit of The Americas in 2027 are slim–but they’re not zero.

Why? The World Racing League just announced an event on December 2-3, 2027.

ICYMI, COTA moved its focus to serving the most exclusive clientele they can, looking to become something akin to the Augusta National Golf Club of race tracks.

Yes, COTA still will host public events, but mostly those geared toward professional motorsport, hosting organizations such as NASCAR, Formula 1 and WEC.

Oh yeah, and the WRL.

It does not come without a quirk, though.

If you were quick to mark those dates on your calendar, you might have noticed something a bit strange: a Thursday-Friday combination. It’s no mistake. Those were the days that were available.

Inconvenient for someone working a 9-to-5 job? Yes, but how many opportunities does an amateur racer get to compete on an F1 circuit?

(Note: If you can’t wait until 2027, you can still register for WRL’s event this year on December 4-6.)
