Emily Rose Rudd

Emily Rose Rudd Documentary-Style Wedding & Elopement Photographer || Chicago & Beyond Hi there! I am Emily, the photographer behind Hello Rose Photography.

When I’m not taking photos, I’m running around with our spunky 2 year old Holly Jean and Ned, our half lab half mastiff goofball. I love playing instruments, sipping coffee with a friend, hanging out with horses, and traveling/being around other cultures. Most of my friends growing up and currently are from other countries/cultures and I love it! I started taking photos back in 2014 to capture my

floral creations (I was a florist before this!) and ended up falling in love with taking photos of people! I find it an absolute honor to photograph the best of people’s lives and I know it’s more than just capturing beautiful photographs. It’s being prepared and helping you work out details beforehand, being a calming and fun presence the day of, being kind to your family and friends, being at the ready to capture those family and friend’s fun personalities candidly, making sure your day goes smoothly and your wedding day experience with me is good, not just your photos. With that said, my standard for photos is high and I work hard to capture not only breathtaking photos of the two of you and every gorgeous detail of the day but also all the precious in-between moments of you and your loved ones. I photograph weddings in such a way that when you look at the photos, you really get to relive the whole day and even get to see moments captured that you weren’t there to see. If you couldn’t already tell, my style of photography is very candid and natural-looking. I want to capture you guys being you and not looking overly posed but also edit the photos in a way that is timeless yet stunning. Don’t worry if you don’t naturally feel comfortable in front of a camera - almost no one does (including me!) and that’s a huge part of my job as your photographer. I will direct you into the poses that look good and make sure you don’t look awkward in the photos. :) By the end of your portrait session, you may even say you had some fun! I love working with couples who are laid back, goofy, madly in love, and trust me to capture that love. Bonus if they love dogs and yes please bring your fur baby to the engagement session, I am the photographer who lets your dog jump all over me and lick my face. :)

Some of the most unforgettable moments on a wedding day aren't part of the timeline...

They're the quiet hugs after reading love letters.

The deep breath before walking down the aisle.

The way you look at each other when the world finally slows down.

We feel so blessed to have a space created just for moments like these.

If Abuela saw my camera she turned off her smile so I had to get really good at capturing her candidly and I am so proud of these photos of her greeting her granddaughter on her wedding day. Candids will always be my favorite. 🖤
