On Thursday, October 22, the associates in the NYC office developed a first-of-its-kind NextGen cocktail reception. The event was an effort to engage with contemporaries who are the next generation of leaders in business and law. The event was held at the Grand Brasserie in NYC’s famed Grand Central Station.

Thompson Hine Goes Wild for Boo at the Zoo!

On Friday, October 23, approximately 15 Thompson Hine volunteers swapped their computers for treat buckets and staffed treat stations at Cleveland Metroparks' Boo at the Zoo.

From pint-sized superheroes to the spookiest of ghouls, we loved handing out treats and seeing families enjoy a safe, festive night at the zoo. Thank you to Cleveland Metroparks for having us, and to our volunteers for giving their time to support this much-loved community tradition.

We're proud to call Cleveland home, and we look forward to the next chance to give back!

On October 21, Heather Renée Adams, Julie Honor and Kimberly Pack led a lunch roundtable at Impact House in Chicago on Smart Tools, Hard Questions: Employment, Privacy and AI Governance in 2026. In the room were general counsel, chief privacy officers, employment and HR counsel, and compliance leaders – joining from technology, financial services, pharmaceutical, retail, manufacturing, and nonprofit organizations.

The working discussion covered global regulatory regimes, AI in hiring, privacy and privilege risks, and practical AI governance. The turnout and the discussion showed how fast this area is moving. Many organizations now face the gap between AI adoption and regulation as a compliance and litigation problem today, not a future one.

On Sunday, September 27, a team from our New York office braved a nor’easter to participate in the Tunnel to Towers Foundation 5K Run & Walk.

This marked the third year the office has organized a team for the event, which raises funds to provide mortgage-free homes to families of fallen first responders and military service members.

This year’s event was especially meaningful as it marked the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. More than 40,000 people participated in what has become a signature event in New York City.

We were proud to cheer on Empower Sports and lend a hand at their final softball game of the season.

Thompson Hine is proud to sponsor the 2026 Breast Cancer Paddlers' Commission (IBCPC) Dragon Boat Festival in France — an incredible international event bringing together over 250 breast cancer paddler teams from more than 32 countries across six continents.

Held under the auspices of the International Breast Cancer Paddlers' Commission, the festival celebrates dragon boat paddling as a powerful form of post-diagnosis rehabilitation for breast cancer survivors.

We are especially excited that our very own Denise Evans will be participating with GoPink!DC, Washington, D.C.’s only dragon boat team for persons touched by breast cancer! A cancer survivor herself, Denise's participation on the dragon boat team is an inspiring testament to her strength and resilience.
