Just know, if you’re worried about your kids behaving during a photo shoot, I’m not. 😂🫶🏼

You know why? Because we’re not just standing around taking pictures the whole time. That’s boring. We’re playing music, dancing, running, swinging, and having fun in between shots so it never feels like they have to sit still and smile the entire time.

And no, not every session looks like this. I know not every kiddo wants to run around or dance, and that’s totally okay. I just lean into their little personalities, what they’re feeling, and what they enjoy. We go with the flow and make it fun for THEM. 🧡

And let me tell you… this session was SO much fun, and the photos turned out SO good!! Natural, playful, in-the-moment magic with the cutest little Fie family. 🥹🫶🏼

I’m not stopping you from using AI. Go ahead. But have you stopped to think about what that actually does for your brand?

We all see it when a business or person uses AI for their graphics or text. I see it all over social media. My first thought? Cheesy. Boring. Obvious. Tired. They didn’t take the time to think and put in the effort.

That’s not to be harsh. It’s just the reality of the world we live in. That’s not to say I don’t use AI, because I do… with my own take and on my terms. I want to use it less and less as it evolves. It kind of freaks me out, if I’m being honest.

Adding your own voice and opinions is going to start to stand out because it’s original thinking and not lost in the ocean of AI content. It will break through the redundancy and be the unique thing people will remember.

So here I am. Sitting at my desk at 9:51 a.m., in a Word doc with random to-dos at the top from a call I took yesterday, Canva open, and headphones in playing “Gypsy” by Stevie Nicks. Fitting, isn’t it?

Hell yeah.

So please, use your brain. Try to sit with your thoughts and come up with an idea. Get off your phone, open a Word doc or notebook, and just brain dump. You may be surprised by what you discover.

Why does this make me emotional?😭

If only she knew how many times she’d fall, how many times she’d get back up, dust off the dirt, and start again.

I walked away from corporate life in 2021, with consistent pay and nice benefits to leave it all behind. I took a chance and a risk to bet on myself and build something of my own from the ground up.

And I haven’t looked back since.

And maybe I’m emotional about this because I know how hard it’s been to get to this point.

I’ve been scared. I’ve cried and still do. I’ve questioned if I made a mistake. I’ve been shot down and made to feel like what I’m building isn’t worth it. I’ve worried about my future more times than I can count.

But I also got back up. I wiped my tears and took a deep breath and said HELL NO. THIS ISN’T OVER. I CAN DO THIS.

And I did. I’m doing it. I’m continuing to do it.

The struggle, the late nights to hit deadlines, trying to prove myself again and again and again.

Do you know what comes from hard times? Growth.

If this is as far as I go, I hope she knows how happy I am right where I’m at.

But you know and I know damn well I’m still shooting for the stars and the moon! 🌙✨

Isn’t she absolutely STUNNING?!✨

One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is watching someone see themselves differently. 🥹

Becky has always joked about how hard it was to find photos of herself she actually liked. Family photos at Walmart or JCPenney back in the day? Multiple packages because she could never find enough favorites. So when she asked me to take new headshots for her business and that she was a little nervous, I was up for the challenge!

At the end of our session, she saw her gallery and said, “Oh my God, I think I could cry.”

And THAT is the good stuff.

You don’t have to be someone who loves being in front of a camera. You don’t have to know how to pose or feel naturally confident. That’s where I come in.

My job is to help you feel comfortable, capture you as you are, and give you photos you’re excited to look at again and again.

This is exactly why we do what we do 🤍

Fun fact: Becky work with my husband and I to find our home in Elk River and she made the whole process a dream and more. So when she called about wanting some help, I said where and when because we were going to make this happen!

We had the best time with Becky this week for her content day, and it was fun, relaxed, and productive. Becky came in admitting she’s not a fan of headshots or social media, which is something we hear a lot!

Our goal is always to create a comfortable space where you can just be yourself, because that’s when the best content happens. No stiff poses, no forced smiles, just real moments that actually feel like YOU!

People always ask why I’m out at Liz’s flower farm so often.

The answer is simple: fresh content matters.

When you work with me as a social media manager, I don’t believe in showing up once, taking a bunch of photos, and trying to stretch them for months. Businesses are constantly evolving, seasons change, products change, and people want to see what’s happening right now.

So once or twice a month, I head out to create fresh content that keeps her social media current, relevant, and connected to what’s actually happening behind the scenes.

For Liz, every visit looks a little different. The flowers are changing, projects are happening, events are being planned, and there’s always something new to share.

Fresh content means authentic content. And authentic content is what helps people connect with the people behind the business. 💐✨
