I know I haven’t been doing many sneak peeks lately because my schedule is FULL full 😅 but I had to share a few of Tristen and her sweet family. I’ve been photographing them for almost two years now and I just love seeing the kiddos grow! 🖤

At this time, I am temporarily not accepting any new clients, with the exception of weddings and the limited mini sessions I already have planned. If you already have a session booked with me, your session is still completely secure and nothing is changing with your booking.

I am currently navigating a very full and transitional season in my personal life, including trying to secure housing for myself and my kids. Because of that, I need to be more intentional with my time, energy, and mental health right now. I also want to be transparent that gallery turnaround times may be a little longer than usual while I work through everything on my plate.

Right now, I simply do not have the capacity to take on anything additional while still giving my current clients the time, care, and attention they deserve.

I do still have a few spots available for my October fall minis, Airbnb bo***ir in November, and couples bo***ir in December. Outside of those already planned sessions and weddings, I will not be taking on additional new bookings at this time.

If you currently have a gift card, I would preferably love for those to be used in 2027 once things are a little more settled. Anything that already needs to be booked or completed this year will absolutely still be taken care of.

If you already have a session booked this year and would be okay with accepting a gift card to use at a future date instead, I would truly appreciate that more than you know. 🖤 Just message us and we will get a gift card sent out for you. This is completely optional, and there is absolutely no pressure to move your session if you would still like to keep your current date.

For any questions, scheduling, gallery concerns, or other business-related messages, please contact The Rustic Lens business page directly. Please do not message my personal page or reach out to my assistants privately regarding business matters. Keeping all communication in one place helps us stay organized and make sure nothing gets missed.

I love and appreciate every single person who continues to support me and trust me with your memories. I am not going anywhere, and The Rustic Lens is not going anywhere. I just need a little room right now to focus on my family, get us settled, protect my mental health, and take care of the clients already on my books before adding anything more.

Once life starts to settle and I am ready to begin accepting new clients again, I will make an updated post. Thank you so much for your patience, grace, love, and continued support. It truly means more to me than you know. 🖤

A little bit country, a little bit chaotic, a little bit “what in the white trash is happening here?”... and somehow still ridiculously cute. 😂🔥

Sometimes the weirdest ideas turn into my FAVORITE sessions and this one was definitely one of them. Give me all the off-the-wall concepts, the belly, the attitude, and the “we’re doing WHAT for maternity pictures?!” energy. 🤰🏼✨

Baby is already coming into this world with one hell of a story. 😂

🚨 THIS IS NOT A NORMAL GIVEAWAY 🚨

I’m bored with the typical “like, share & tag 3 friends” giveaways… so we’re doing something completely different.

I’m giving away **TWO BLIND DATES WITH THE RUSTIC LENS.** 📸

That means **2 people** are going to win a completely FREE creative session… but here’s the catch:

You do **not** get to know the theme.
You do **not** get to know the exact setup.
You do **not** get to know what I have planned until it’s time. 👀

I’ll get to know each winner a little beforehand, build a whole session concept around YOU, help with styling, pick the vibe and location, and you just have to trust me and show up ready to have fun.

Could be romantic.
Could be vintage.
Could be messy.
Could involve water.
Could be something completely weird and freaking amazing. 😂

If you’re the type of person who can hand me the creative control and say **“Jade, do your thing”**… this one is for you.

✨ Comment **I TRUST JADE** once you’ve shared
✨ Make sure your share is public so I can see it!

**TWO winners will be chosen at random.** 🤍

Let’s create something nobody else has sitting in their camera roll. 🔥

Got to meet this sweet little dude, Jack & spend some time playing with his big sis too! 🤍 I always love getting to hang out with this little family and capture all the sweet, silly, in-between moments. So much love packed into one crew! 🥹

Madison + Austin 💍 Part one of their engagement session and these two absolutely nailed the classy, vintage vibe.

We kept this one a little moody, a little grainy, and full of those natural in-between moments that make the photos feel timeless.

I seriously love how this first part came together and I cannot wait for part two. ✨

I want to make a little update because I know there have been some changes, reschedules, and moving pieces with my business.

This year has been one of the hardest years of my life personally. I am going through a divorce, preparing for custody court this fall, trying to sell my home under an extremely stressful financial situation, working a second job whenever I’m not photographing, raising my kids, dealing with car issues, house showings, and still doing everything I can to keep this business moving.

I’m trying really hard to push through this year because I truly do want to keep doing what I love. Photography has been such a huge part of my life, and I don’t want to give it up. But right now, I am in survival mode. I have to make decisions based on what is best for me and my kids, and when next year comes, there are going to be some major life changes. My schedule will be changing drastically, I will be taking on far fewer sessions, and I will most likely be looking for a full-time regular job so I can create more stability for my family.

I’m not sharing this for sympathy, and I don’t feel like I owe the internet every detail of my personal life. I’m sharing it because I need people to understand that there is a real person behind this business who is carrying a lot right now.

If I reach out asking to move or reschedule a session, I promise it is not because I don’t value you, your time, or your photos. I am doing everything I can to accommodate everyone while also trying to keep a roof over my children’s heads, work another job, handle my personal life, and still show up for my clients.

What I cannot continue doing is being spoken to disrespectfully, receiving hateful messages, or immediately being met with refund demands every single time life forces me to move something. I completely understand being disappointed or frustrated, but there is a difference between being frustrated and treating someone badly.

I also need to be very transparent about something financially. I cannot afford to refund dozens of sessions. A large portion of the photography income I am currently working off of was paid months ago or even last year, and my second job is barely covering basic living expenses. That is exactly why contracts, retainers, rescheduling policies, and refund policies exist because I am not paid hourly, but by the session. I will always work with my clients where I reasonably can, but I cannot financially survive if every unavoidable reschedule automatically turns into a refund request or demand.

Going forward, I need my boundaries and policies to be respected. Rescheduling does not automatically mean a refund is owed, and bookings will continue to follow the contracts and policies agreed to when booking.

Most importantly, my children come first. I come first too. My mental health, my stability, and rebuilding a healthy life for my kids have to matter. I am already carrying more than I ever imagined I would be carrying this year, and being torn apart by people on top of it is something I simply cannot continue allowing.

I love photography. I love The Rustic Lens. I love creating memories for people, and I am trying like hell to make it through this season without losing something I have worked so hard to build. But I cannot do that at the expense of myself or my children.

So right now, I’m asking for something pretty simple: patience, communication, flexibility when it is genuinely needed, and basic human respect.

You are allowed to be frustrated. You are allowed to ask questions. You are allowed to advocate for yourself as a client. But you are not allowed to disrespect me, attack me, or forget that there is a human being on the other side of the screen who is doing everything she can to keep going.

I’m pushing through the rest of this year the best I can. Next year will look very different, and those changes will be made with my kids, my wellbeing, and our future at the center of them. 🤍

Emma, I hope you have the BEST senior year.

This girl showed up and absolutely went for it. She got in the water, tried the uncomfortable poses, trusted the process, laughed through it all, and brought SO much life and personality to every single shot. Emma, you have such a fun, outgoing energy that photographs beautifully, and I hope when you look at these photos you see what everyone else gets to see — a beautiful girl who lights up the space around her just by being herself. 🥹

Never shrink yourself. Keep being bold, goofy, adventurous, and completely YOU. Senior year looks pretty dang good on you, girl.
