Old Rag Hike – Shenandoah National Park. What an incredible adventure. This was officially the hardest hike we’ve done so far, climbing over 3,400 feet for an amazing summit payoff.
Starting from the Berry Hollow entrance, the hike begins with over 2.5 miles of uphill climbing. Just when your legs feel like they can’t take another step, you finally reach the summit. The breathtaking views make every ounce of effort worthwhile. We spent about 45 minutes relaxing and taking it all in before tackling the 2.5-mile hike back down.
And the drive in the pitch-dark forest on a narrow, winding, one-lane road. CRAZY. Definitely an adventure before the adventure.

Chop House Bistro in Luray, VA, is a fantastic spot for dinner. We sat at the bar, enjoyed some drinks, and indulged in a delicious filet mignon and scallops. Everything was perfectly prepared, and the service was excellent. A wonderful dining experience and definitely worth a visit. And for dessert, cheesecake in the shape of ice cream balls. Hiking Mary’s Rock in Shenandoah National Park. Beautiful 3.7-mile round-trip hike with a 1,210-foot elevation gain. A great workout, gorgeous views, and plenty of natural beauty along the way. About 4 hours well spent in the great outdoors. Shenandoah National Park Video Larry

Hawksbill Diner in Stanley, VA Home cooked meals, a hidden gem.
Absolutely amazing, delicious food, the best waitress and warmest, most personable service I’ve ever experienced. And the prices? Insanely low. This place is the definition of a local diamond in the rough. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in. Great food, great people, and incredible value. What a great spot. West Main Market B**r Garden in Luray, VA, has the perfect chill atmosphere to sit outside, soak up the sunshine, and enjoy a cold b**r. The Reuben sandwich was juicy and delicious, with the freshest rye bread. And to top it all off, a ZZ Top–looking guitarist entertained everyone with a fun variety of tunes and a smooth, soothing voice. Great food, great music, and great vibes. Loved it! Highly recommend.
