I was there at Shaw Air Force Base for the recertification flight with "Rocket" back in 2015, and I've been fortunate to see them a few times since...but I can never catch up to the merch tent!! Plans changed from going to Colorado Springs to instead going to Sacramento in October, so is anyone going to see them the rest of this year and want to pick up a few things for me...please?? I'll pay "shipping and handling"...🤣

She's coming back...and bringing some friends!

Michigan Flight Museum is bringing B-25 "Rosie's Reply" back to Greenville Downtown Airport (GMU) in South Carolina the weekend of October 3-4, along with MFM's new to us C-47 "Hairless Joe". Word is local Thom Richard will also be there with a Warbird Adventures T-6...and I'm pretty sure all 3 will be ready to take you for a ride around the Upstate!

Weather should be excellent, so bring the family out for the day. Take a historic airplane ride, visit the Military History Center of the Carolinas - MHCC, grab some lunch at Hangar 28 Kitchen and Events, let the kids (and some of you parents too) test all the playground equipment at Runway Park, and watch from one of the best "spots" for takeoffs and landings in the Upstate!

Who knows who else might "fly in" to see what's happening, so make your plans now...you don't want to miss it.

Taiwan 6727, when she was a brand new F-16 Block 70/72, on a test flight with the venerable Kfir playing guardian angel. Just the takeoff and pickup...will get the returns later.

She got a set of CFT's before starting the ferry flight across the Pacific Ocean, saw them in a picture when she left JNGB Ft Worth. So now she and 6728 are waiting for the weather to clear to make the final hop from Guam to their new home at Chihang Air Force Base in Taitung.

It's a shared thing amongst those of us that shoot pics at KGYH...a feeling that just a little part of us, along with a little bit of South Carolina too, goes home with every jet that leaves that runway for the last time. Vipers we've watched first flights here are now home and flying in Slovakia, Bulgaria, Bahrain and now (almost) Taiwan.

There's a really different looking jet coming off the production line now and I can't wait to see it fly...so stay tuned!!
