The Speckled Chachalaca is one unique, awesome bird…in my opinion.🤩 Big in stature, whether posing…in flight…or just showing off its beautiful wingspan.🤗 Mike and I were lucky enough 🍀 to meet up with Mr. Speckled a couple of times while visiting the incredible Copalinga Ecolodge in Zamora, Ecuador 🥇More special moments😍…while on another great adventure in Ecuador 🇪🇨.🙏🏻

The Blue-crowned Trogon🤗…my brother Mike and I got lucky on this day at the fabulous Buglas Nature Reserve when we found this awesome Trogon, just perched in the forest🍀…resting, enjoying the day…posing for me and my Nikon.😉 As you know, I love stunning birds🥰… in flight, wings in full bloom, showing off its colors and personality.🤩 However, being able to capture a quiet moment that Mr Blue gave us is just fine with me…and Mike, too.❤️ I think Trogons are my favorite birds of Ecuador🥰…but please, don’t tell the toucans or tanagers.🫢😎 Hope you’re having a good week…wait…make that a great week. 🙏🏻 🇪🇨

This Tufted Titmouse🤗…fearless and bold…taking off…to “hold his own” with all his “competition”…for a nice meal or a cold Diet Coke at one of the pool bars…in my backyard.🫢 And wouldn’t you know it, Mr. Tufted does it very well…he’s incredible.🤩He and his brother have figured it out…they show up when the action is slow…they basically have the “whole joint” to themselves!😯Amazing!!👍🏻 I love to watch The Tufted Boys work their “magic”😉Special moments in Maitland, for sure.🙏🏻

A Ruby-throated Hummingbird stopped by yesterday😍…and tried to make friends with a Red-shouldered Hawk😬…who was perched in my old Oak Tree, about 100’ high in the sky.🫣When Mr. Red rejected the little guy😢, Mr. Ruby flew down into my backyard to have some lunch😎…and of course, pose for a couple of nice moments.😉When I saw that gentle bird up in the sky flying around this feared hawk, I couldn’t believe it.🫢It just shows you…when you think you’ve seen everything…you haven’t.😯Have a great week, please.🙏🏻

Beautiful Blue Jays🤗 flying around my Bird Resort…I mean my backyard😉. I love my Jays….so colorful, so blue💙…Smart, sneaky….and they can be a little noisy 🫣…but that’s ok with me👍🏻it’s always nice when they stop by.😍 I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend…with lots of great fun! 🥳

So back in Maitland…After many mutual “taunts”…this angry Red-shouldered Hawk finally made his move to fight😡…but this carefree American Crow just flew by…ignoring the Hawk. 😬 Mr. Hawk got upset and took to the sky.🫢Incredible…and funny, in a certain way.😎 You just never can predict what happens in Nature🙏🏻…or in my backyard😉

The Band-tailed Pigeon…My brother, Mike and I encountered a small flock of these beautiful birds along a river bank in Borga, Ecuador. Here are a couple of nice moments. 😍 At first, I thought they were Doves🫣 but Mike said they were not…only cousins of the Doves. 😉😎 Mike always teaches me something new on our adventures in Ecuador.👍🏻🙏🏻 He teaches me a lot in Maitland, too. Mike is a great brother!🥇Thanks Mike. 🙏🏻❤️

The Golden-eared Tanager…another beautiful little bird😍 my brother, Mike found perched, looking around for his next meal😉…in the forest in the Guaycapi Birding Lodge 💯 Guaycapi is THE place for awesome birds🥰…especially adorable tanagers with great colors.👏🏻🙏🏻

The Many-spotted Hummingbird😍 Enjoying his breakfast within the beautiful flowers of the Copalinga forest in Zamora, Ecuador.😉 This “little” beauty sure can offer you a “big” moment! 🤩 A huge thanks to our incredible guide and amigo, Walter👏🏻👏🏻…he found and identified so many great birds for Mike and I to enjoy and photograph.💯 Thank you Walter for a job well done 🥇…and your friendship. 🙏🏻

Male Yellow-vented Woodpeckers😍…in the forest of the awesome Guaycapi Birding Reserve 🥇 I was told that if you get to see one of these beautiful birds, you’re lucky🤗. But to see two of them…Wow!🫢 You are very lucky🍀. It doesn’t hurt to have a great guide like our Alejandro 💯 He makes the impossible possible🫣…and does it with such ease.🤩 Thanks Alejandro🙏🏻…and thanks to my brother, Mike. 🙏🏻❤️ You guys are a great team. 👍🏻 🇪🇨
