EKKKKKK allllll the plans have been discussed - date has been picked out - location spotted!!!!

We are SOOOO excited for this years Christmas minis!!!

It’s not only my favorite time of year but these minis have ALWAYS been my favorite!

Hehe we wanted to wait until after Halloween but I’ve had a handful ask if we were still doing these and the answer is OF COURSE!!! 🤩

Yesterday I met up with the Cox family for their annual family session - and the FALL colors were POPPING!! 🙌🏼

It definitely helped that Kelly did amazing at picking out those outfits - oh my gosh 😍

Emma and Mason are just growing like little weeds - their sweet littler personalities shined through yesterday!

I just absolutely enjoyed my time with this sweet family yesterday!! Kyle and Kelly yalls love just is a magical gift and shows! ❤️

😭😭 to think it all started with a surprise proposal at bodie lighthouse a little over 5 years ago… and then they had their intimate wedding at bodie… and then an anniversary session followed by a maternity session at bodie lighthouse… and now… family pictures 😭😭 when their sweet daughter stood along the fence line - all i could think about was how brian and sue ann had their first look there… and how incredibly lucky i was to have witnessed so many incredible moments in their life 😭 geez. im a mess even typing this out! but even though that sweet lil girl is here now, do you know who will always be the “first baby” - bedford 🤣 i’m not sure he’ll ever give up that title!!

Horse minis’ was a sweet success 😍 the day was gorgeous- felt like a cool crisp fall afternoon!

These precious little kiddos loved these gorgeous giants! (And some were a little intimidated hehe)

We are so incredibly thankful Abby let us use her sweet big babies for these fall photos! Eleanor and Misty did so good with all the new people!

Can’t wait for the next set next month!!!

IMPORTANT: a little PSA for our longtime SEP clients! 🧡

if you had photos taken with us yearssssss ago, back when we used PASS to deliver our online galleries, this is important... PASS is officially shutting down, and all galleries hosted through their platform will be permanently deleted and inaccessible after october 30th, 2026.

we've been using CloudSpot for the past handful of years, after PASS made some pretty significant changes and unfortunately didn't honor certain promises made to us photographers (which I hate to even write publicly, but it's the truth) - promises that, in turn, we'd made to our clients.

the good news is that some of our old PASS galleries were successfully migrated over to CloudSpot! however, i don't think all galleries were transferred, so we want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to save their photos before they're gone.

impacted clients SHOULD receive an email through PASS over the next couple of days, but truthfully, i don't have a whole lot of faith in their email system at this point. 😅 so please check your spam/junk folders, too! that's also why i'm sharing this here.

i know some of these sessions are 10+ years old (which is wild to even think about!), but i wanted to give everyone a heads-up because i KNOW some of y'all probably never actually downloaded your photos. LOL.

this sweet family was originally supposed to be in front of my camera friday, with saturday set aside as our backup… and then the nor’easter rolled into town last week… high winds, angry ocean, no beach. we threw around a few alternative options, but ultimately they were able to extend their stay by a day and we got to meet this morning at sunrise instead… and i’m so glad we did!! the winds were calm, the ocean was at peace and we even had the sun peek out for a bit!! 🧡

I’m always so thankful for families who are flexible and care about actually ENJOYING their session, not just knocking photos off the to-do list!! this is the OBX… so wind is nothing new around here, and we can absolutely shoot in it… but when winds start creeping toward 20mph+, i like to start talking about what kind of experience folks wanna have. especially with little ones, because no one wants to spend their session being sandblasted… wind direction matters, location matters, tides matter… and if you care about your hair blowing everywhere or the way your clothes lay, that matters too… i personally do not care - because i’ll be in sweats and behind the camera! lol! obviously, there’s no shooting in inclement weather, but when it comes to wind - i just wanna do what will actually keep my people happy with the experience AND the outcome!

we even made the decision last night to switch beach accesses this morning because our original spot barely had any beach left after the storm, and with high tide coming in, it would’ve gotten even smaller. thankfully, this little pivot gave us the sweetest morning!!!

i’ve been fascinated by weather since i was little… never imagined knowing wind direction, tide charts and what the ocean is doing would eventually become part of my job description… let alone utilizing 10 different weather apps and websites and checking them 183729 times!! and who knew i’d even have a paid subscription to a weather app… dear heavens! 😂🧡

there are people i’ve photographed through so many different seasons of their lives that calling them “clients” doesn’t really fit anymore… i’ve watched these two love each other, get married, become parents… and now i get to watch them do it all over again as they wait for their newest little human to join the crew!!! 🥹

somewhere along the way, they started telling me i’m family now… and after years of being invited back into their lives and new chapters… and after receiving bo**er covered high fives + knuckles last night from mav… we’ve officially crossed that threshold 😂🧡 to be fair - it didn’t take those high fives for me to feel that way!! 😆 those high fives just sealed the deal!

realizing somewhere along the way, i stopped just documenting their story and became a tiny little part of it too, is….. very very special!! gahhhh! my heart!

yesterday’s intimate nags head wedding was 😭 + 😍 = 🧡

jules + ben are… without question… soulmates. the kind of love you don’t really need explained to you because you can FEEL it just being in the same space with them.

that same feeling stretched through everyone… their families, their people, the way everyone loved them and loved each other. it was joy on top of joy! 😭

there are weddings i leave thinking about the photographs… and then there are weddings i leave just feeling really damn grateful that this job lets me step into people’s lives for a little while.

yesterday was one of those… but also super excited to edit the photos 😂

what an honor to witness a love like theirs… and what a joy to be welcomed into it. 🧡

im all about the photo where everyone is looking and smiling. i am… those photographs are important. i get it!

but the moments have me. the moments are where my heart lives…

there is something almost impossible to wrap my heart around about a photograph… the second i press the button, that moment is already becoming something that once was… none of it stays exactly this way. 😭

we grow… we change… life keeps moving forward… time is the ultimate gift - and maybe that’s why i’ve always felt so deeply about photography.

photography + videography give us this tiny, beautifully heartbreaking way of reaching backward… y’all have heard me say it countless times before, but photos and videos bridge the gap between what once was and what will never be again… and because of them, we get to hold on to a moment a lil while longer 🧡

We were SO glad the rain held off/passed for this sweet extended family session!
We were closely monitoring the radar and rain was being forecasted for their time haha- we just decided welllll we are gonna go for it!
So glad we did!

Alicia and her little family holds a very dear place in our hearts!! So we were beyond excited to see her beautiful face again!!
And their big family— soooo funny - so sweet - just a perfect family 🥹 made my husband and I feel like one of them!!
