I had always wanted to photograph an English Setter, so to have gorgeous Maggie ❤️ in front of my lens in this amazing Austrian landscape was an absolute treat 💯 I couldn't keep my eyes off her!

Thanks again to Anne ~ Dogphotographer for finding her for us to delight over on this stunning morning at the recent retreat 😍

I love summer sunrise mornings spent with a beautiful dog in gorgeous light 🌞 Christian wanted to honor Cooper's 13th birthday with a photo adventure together and they certainly made the most of celebrating this very good boy. Thirteen years well spent, and here's to many, many more adventures together ❤️

People tell me all the time that I have the best job ever, and honestly they are totally right 💯❤️

Back in 2011, when pet photography was barely a thing, I had a thought: "What if I just photograph dogs for a living? I know there are people as obsessed with dogs as I am!"

Leaving my career as a makeup artist was daunting, but some things are only meant for a season of life. I had a *vision* for the rest of my life though- to spend it honoring the glory of dogs 🎉 It took so many years to find my voice as a photographer, and it's always evolving, but it has always been rooted in my love of dogs and the bonds they share with their people.

There were so many years that were filled with uncertainty and difficulty translating my ideas in photos well, but I kept going. 15 years later, I'm still following my bliss, and yes, I really do have the best job ever ❤️

This evening with Kristine, Cameron, and their beloved dog Jakobi was such a delight. I have so much FUN with my clients, and I remember thinking that night about how thrilled my 30 year old self would be to know that this wild little idea of mine would get to be the amazing life I live every day 😍

Every single day I have been on this planet I have marveled at the absolute wonder of dogs, and International Dog Day is no different. It's not every day though that I am presented with a basket of puppies to spend the morning with, and thank you to Anne ~ Dogphotographer for arranging these moments of bliss for us! And thank you to dogs for being dogs- you make our lives so much more fun 💯

Don't be fooled by the stillness of the first photo, Hazel and Jarvis definitely took full advantage of the glorious wide open space of the beach they had all to themselves. Check out the ballerina moves by Jarvis in the second slide that show his enthusiasm 😂

I have been photographing Hazel since 2018 with her very missed brother Aspen, and it's always so meaningful to get to photograph a dog over so many years in many beautiful places. Jarvis joined the family three years ago and he's been such a joy for them too. We had such a spectacular time on their trip out here to the Oregon coast from Idaho- a trip I'm sure that hold such delightful memories ❤️

Look at this marvelous meerkat- her name is Maja, and this first photo is one of her absolute favorite ways to stand 😂 She is the dog of fellow attendant of Anne ~ Dogphotographer's recent retreat, Kristina Schätzle, and I adored her so much! She waited around so patiently during so many shoots, and I was happy to have a chance to get to photograph this bouncy beauty as well 😍

Sneak peek of gorgeous Noble 🖤

There was no mention in the weather report earlier that day of the absolutely wild storm that unleashed upon us, just minutes into our photo session. It rained apocalyptically for 45 minutes while we waited in our cars for it to pass, and then we got these stunning conditions with our precious remaining light.

I have it narrowed down to my top 984 images so far, haha, but I wanted to share a quick one early for Tarin Adair Klimko, to thank him for his trust in me with waiting out the wild storm for this magic and all the other photos of Noble he has yet to see that are currently blowing my mind 🤍

Sweet Avery ❤️ It was so lovely to spend a summer morning with her and Amee in the Gorge, surrounded by the most beautiful sunrise, making these moments everlasting.

I've been thinking of them this week, as Avery crossed the rainbow bridge a few days ago. There is something especially meaningful about these photos after goodbye especially- the way they let us return to that morning when they were right there beside us.

I'm so grateful that Avery had a beautiful life filled with so much love, and that we have preserved a little sweet piece of it here for Amee ❤️

Photographing beautiful Maple in one of her favorite places (the legendary 1000 acre dog park in Troutdale, Oregon) was such a sweet experience while they were celebrating an absolutely wonderful ten years together. It's such an honor to get to do this work 🥺
