Introducing the senior portrait session that almost didn't happen. The weather was relentless but we still held out hope that the summer storm would just pass though quickly. After driving to our destination about 45 minutes away, we ultimately made the decision to reschedule. We headed home through the slightly flooded backroads, and while I was driving I had this guilty feeling and was so mad that the lovely JoAnn Morris was all dressed up with no place to go. About 20 minutes from home, I called them and said, "have her stay in her dress, I'll come to your house and take some rainy photos, it'll be great." They must have read my mind, and were likely also feeling disappointed because they immediately agreed and said they stopped at a little spot in our neighborhood to get some phone pics. So, I met them there. The result is so dreamy, I am so glad they trusted me and were so flexible and understanding! Stay tuned for Part II of her session (hopefully with some sunshine) in the Spring!!!

The Art of Motherhood Shoot-Along hosted by Angela | Maryland Motherhood & Family Lifestyle Photographer and Miriam Dudley I Northern Virginia Photographer was just what I needed to get my creative juices flowing. I got to spend time with some really great women (Angela, Miriam, Gaithersburg MD Photographer, and JessicaEndlichPhotography) talking about our goals and our dreams, and then we met the stunning Ashley Caitlin Vaughn and her crew for maternity photos at this majestic location. I really can't explain the mindset shift I've had this summer, but I owe it all to the community of photographers I've met, worked with, and learned from these past few months. I've grown as a photographer, and I am excited for what's to come.

What exactly is that? Documenting your real-life, unscripted story. I want you to get lost in love doing things that represent YOU, and just forget that I'm there. Show the world that joyful and messy can coexist--and just how beautiful it can be.

Thank you, ladies! This was a wonderful experience and can't wait for attend your next one! I'll also be looking forward to some photo updates when that sweet babe arrives, Ashley!

Last month I had the privilege of working alongside some amazing photographers at the Shoot & Learn Workshop hosted by Miriam Dudley I Northern Virginia Photographer. We spent a few hours chatting about our businesses, learning the art of storytelling photography, and relishing in community all while enjoying a meal. Then we headed to the location to meet Morgan Horne and her beautiful family.

I learned so much in those few hours, and I am so grateful to be surrounded by such talented and strong women that are willing to share their craft. We all had some fun and created lasting memories that night. I'll definitely be investing in more education like this. Thank you Miriam, Morgan, and the lovely crew (DMV~Northern Virginia~Kassie Wampler Photography, Katie Branca | Northern VA Family Photographer) for a successful evening.

What a beautiful day it was celebrating Grace & Tristan Inn at the Old Silk Mill in Fredericksburg last month. They were surrounded by all their loved ones and the smiles were plentiful. It truly was an honor working with these two, just so easy-going, playful, and certainly know how to throw a party. The dance floor was jam-packed all night! Cheers to you both, go on and relish in your married era.

Sometimes it's hard to truly understand the importance of photos until your life depends on it. Just LOOK at these moments frozen in time. I can just feel the breeze, taste the cookies, hear the laughter, and smell the countryside. There's no greater joy than helping you document your story--through all of its chapters.

If you are questioning whether or not to invest in photos with your family, your children, your pets, yourself; the simple answer is--just do it. It's priceless if you ask me. Thank you, for trusting me with your memories. I don't take this privilege for granted!

There's no "I" in team, but there is a "me"...just sayin' 😂

This little girl had NO IDEA that her life would be so fulfilling as an entrepreneur! She is so glad that all roads led her here. Thank you for being on this wild ride with me and supporting Pick Me Up Love Photo and all of its vital employees 😉
