I know your phone is always on you and I know it’s so tempting to leave the camera at home, but what if you didn’t.

What if you tried using your camera instead. What if it forced you to slow down. To observe. To be still.

What if using a camera and various lenses and lighting techniques allowed others to see the world through your unique perspective.

What if you were able to print beautiful photos you took because they are hi-res and sharp and full of color. What if every time you looked at those prints you relived the moment all over again?

What if you picked up the camera and what if you picked up a new passion?

I think scars are sexy.

Not because of what caused them.
Not because we need to turn every hard thing into something beautiful.

But because scars are real.

They’re evidence of a body that has lived. Changed. Healed. Fought. Grown. Survived.

And I want to photograph more of them.

The scars you hide.
The ones you’ve learned to love.
The ones you’re still learning to accept.
The ones that changed the way you see your body.

I want to create photographs that make you look at those parts of yourself differently. Not as something that needs to be erased or disguised, but as something that belongs to your story.

So I’m looking for women who are ready to show me their scars.

Big ones. Small ones. Surgical scars. C-section scars. Mastectomy scars. Accident scars. The scars that carry an entire chapter of your life.

Breast cancer.
No reconstruction. No hiding. No apology.

What struck me when I photographed her wasn’t what cancer had taken from her. It was what was still so clearly there—her strength, her femininity, her beauty, her story.

Going flat isn’t the right choice for every woman. But it is a choice. And for the women who make it, I think there is something incredibly powerful about seeing their bodies represented. Not as something broken or incomplete, but simply perfect as is.

Ok so why am I standing with my back to my client? Because reflections make me happy!!! I am photographing her reflection in the mirror using the mirror itself to frame her and give the image interest. I love looking for reflections anywhere I can find them. It’s challenging, creative and clients love it!! Do you use reflections in your work?
