It is officially that season where life decides everything needs to start at the exact same time. Fall sessions, editing, emails, contracts, school routines, two kids, two schools, baseball, activities… and somehow everyone needs something at once. 😅

So if my replies have been a little slower than usual, please know I’m here and working through it all—just with about twelve tabs open in my brain at all times.

I’m so grateful for every family trusting me with their memories and keeping my little business busy… and also very grateful to my children for making sure I never get too comfortable. 😂

And can we please take a moment for this gorgeous mama? The cool foggy sky, the hay bales, the wildflowers, her long beautiful hair, that little baby bump and her effortlessly cool maternity style. A whole dream. ✨

Three years in a row of being chosen as one of Bay Area Parent’s Best of the Best photographers—and I don’t think I will ever have the right words to explain what this means to me.

This year, Shutter Magic Photography received Gold for Best Family Photography on the Peninsula and Silver in Silicon Valley.

Looking through these awards from the past three years feels incredibly emotional. Behind every one of them are real families, real connections, growing children, new beginnings, and so many beautiful stories I have been trusted to photograph.

To every family who has welcomed me into your lives, returned year after year, recommended my name, or booked a session with me from across the Peninsula and Silicon Valley—thank you. Your trust is something I never take lightly.

And to every person who took a moment to vote for me, please know that it was never “just a vote.” It reminded me that the love, time, and heart I pour into this work are being seen and felt.

I may be the one holding the camera, but these awards belong to all of you too. You are the reason I get to keep doing what I love.

Being chosen once felt unbelievable. Being chosen three years in a row feels incredibly humbling.

I swear pregnancy has never looked this cool. 🤎

The boots. The belly. The wind doing exactly what we needed it to do. That golden California backdrop. And a Maama who just completely trusted me with the vision.

This is the kind of maternity session I want more of — a little undone, a little bold, feminine without trying too hard, and actually feeling like you.

Because maternity photos don’t always have to be soft and delicate.

I kept coming back to this gallery while editing it.

Maybe it’s the way the light wrapped around them, the quiet little moments between the two of them, or the fact that you can almost feel how close they are to meeting the tiny person who is about to change their whole world.

Pregnancy is such a strange in-between chapter. You’re still living the life you know, while already loving someone you haven’t even met yet.

And one day, these photographs won’t just be maternity photos. They’ll be the pictures they show their child and say, “This was us, waiting for you.” 🤍

That’s the part of maternity photography I’ll never get tired of.

Last few days of summer break and I’m over here pretending my to-do list doesn’t exist. 😂

My mom left after being here for two months, which means all the things she was quietly taking care of are officially back on my plate. 🫠 Add photographer life to that… galleries to edit, emails to answer, outfits to style, locations to scout, content to create — apparently we photographers don’t really know how to do nothing. 😂

So instead of tackling any of it, I made a reel. Obviously. 🤣

Trying to soak up these last slow summer days with my boys before school starts next week. And yes, one of them happily helped me make this one. 🥹 After we finished, he looked at it and immediately pointed out one thing that’s wrong/missing in this reel. 😂

Can you figure out what it is? 👀

Also… when does school start for your kiddos? And do yours get recruited into making your reels too? 😂
