The Skateboarding Hall of Fame just got a lot more legendary. Huge congratulations to my buddy, Bill Danforth, on his induction!

From meeting for 5 minutes at the AWH open house in '90 and immediately road-tripping a few hours away to skate at Rotation Station, to staying up with him on Devil's Night in Detroit to help protect the city from being burned down—the man is full of legendary stories.
He was my favorite skater on Alva, an absolute ripper, and genuinely the nicest pro in the game. So well deserved, Bill! Appreciate you and everything you've given to skateboarding.

This classic image of Bill giving the camera the bird was taken at his 50th birthday party. It’s one of the many portraits of true skateboarding icons that will be featured at my Skateboard Legends photo show on May 31st at Illuminated Brew Works. This photo is part of a series I have been working on for over a decade on skateboarding legends. The term 'legend' is often overused. But it is a very accurate when it comes to Salba.

Salba won the very first professional pool skating contest in 1978 at Spring Valley (part of the Hester Series).

The Salba Bevel was the first deck to feature a deep side-to-side concave, before that, boards were basically flat and hard to ride.

Salba has skated more backyard pools than any other person alive (estimated at over 5,000).

Witnessing a legend in action! was absolutely killing it at the reopening last weekend. His influence on skateboarding is undeniable, and his presence at the resurrection was truly special. So good to see this park back from the dead.

I added a sneak peak of Navs portrait that will be part of my Skateboard Legends photo show this year.

Still buzzing from the Turf grand reopening last weekend! The place was packed, and the skating was rad-tastic. .down one-footed frontside grind in the triple bowl. Seriously, such a good time

Unearthed after 30+ years under dirt, the bowls of Surf-N-Turf, built in 1979, closed in '82 to become a strip club, then reborn as The Turf in '87 and buried again in '96. I shot the grand reopening in June 2025. Seeing this best back from the dead for the first time got me a little choked up.

We're about to lose all crucial wind and wave forecasting, plus buoy data, due to the current administration's excessive budget cuts.

This will have an extreme effect on our community and make it nearly impossible to know when and where there will be surf.
