Hey! I’m glad you came across my page. My name is Savannah, and I’m the owner and operator of Robyn Studios, newly based out of Springboro, OH, and established in October of 2023.
You might be wondering, “if your name is Savannah, why’s the business named ‘Robyn’ Studios?”
Let me introduce you to my late best friend, Robyn. Robyn was always the happiest person in any place, whether it be in a classroom laughing over not knowing the subject well with an upcoming test or passing a ball on a soccer field (probably right before getting a concussion…IYKYK). She was always lovingly called “The Energizer Bunny” because of her constant go go go attitude and lack of exhaustion on the field.
Unfortunately, on December 2nd, 2022, Robyn was involved in a car accident that took her life. I remember that phone call like it happened yesterday, and that feeling of loss still sticks with me today. When I met up with Robyn’s grandma, Pam, to help with arrangements, she gave me Robyn’s camera. Through tears, I remember saying it wasn’t mine, that Pam needed to keep it. After losing the argument, I was told to not only take the camera, but to specifically make sure I made good use of it.
Since that day in 2022, I made it my mission to serve others with my best friend’s camera as well as I could. Having never picked up anything other than a phone camera before, I slowly taught myself the basics of camera settings, then the basics of capturing pictures, then the true patience test of editing said pictures. In October of 2023, I traveled to Alaska to meet up with a friend from college who had wholly been there for me when I lost Robyn, and remember him insisting that I use my photography to honor Robyn’s legacy and make sure people didn’t forget the impact she left on all of us here.
On that same trip, after hiking up an Alaskan mountain in the pouring rain where I was soaked to the bone, Robyn’s camera somehow survived the trek through the rain and thus Robyn Studios was born. If that camera could survive something I so stupidly put it through, I decided, I could learn to heal from Robyn’s death.
October 20th, 2023 marks the day that I received my LLC for Robyn Studios. I have no formal business background, and even less photography education, but I’ve heard where there’s a will, there’s a way.
Though Robyn’s camera has been retired from use and is kept safe for my personal sentimental value, I continue to photograph seniors, graduates, engagements, weddings, elopements, pregnancy announcements, maternity shoots, 1st year birthdays, etc. etc. etc….If you want me to photograph it, I’m willing to try.
Thank you for coming with me on this journey to find part of myself professionally, as well as heal from the pain of losing such a close friend. Thank you for being part of this community, and for supporting this dream that has been laid on my heart.
