We waited for one small break in the clouds… and then this happened.

For most of the evening, the High Tatras in Poland remained hidden beneath a heavy autumn sky. We kept waiting, hoping that the setting sun would somehow find its way through.
And just before sunset, our patience was rewarded.

A gap opened in the clouds and warm golden light suddenly swept across the mountains and the forest below.
For a few short moments, the whole landscape completely transformed.
These are the moments I love most about landscape photography when you can plan as much as you want, but in the end, nature decides what Wappens.

This was one of those rare moments where everything came together. 🌒☀️

A partial solar eclipse setting over the rolling hills of the beautiful Mostviertel in Austria.

We had been planning this shot for weeks scouting the right location, working out the position of the Sun and preparing everything for the moment of the eclipse. After all that preparation, seeing it finally happen exactly there on the horizon made the experience even more special.

We enjoyed photographing this celestial event so much that we’re already thinking about the next one: travelling to Egypt next year to photograph the total solar eclipse. 🌑✨ That would definitely be something on a completely different level.

Sometimes, capturing the right image takes more than simply being in the right place at the right time it takes patience.

At the Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye, I spent quite some time standing in the water, waiting for the rain, mist and brief moments of light to come together. The weather changed constantly, and while searching for the best perspective, I was being eaten alive by Scottish midges.

But conditions like these are exactly what make landscape photography so rewarding. The rushing water, dark rocks and mountain peak emerging through the clouds created an incredibly wild and mysterious atmosphere.

In the end, the effort and patience were worth it, and I came away with several images that perfectly captured the dramatic mood of Scotland.

Where water, wildflowers, and fading light collide. 🌿💧

Captured at sunset in Scotland, this scene felt almost unreal the waterfalls glowing beneath a dramatic sky while vibrant heather covered the foreground.

Moments like this are exactly why I keep chasing light through wild landscapes.

Between storm, stone, and the endless Atlantic. 🌊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

This natural sea arch on the wild coast of the Outer Hebrides felt like a scene from another world. Dark clouds, crashing waves, and rugged cliffs shaped by wind and sea — exactly the raw and untamed side of Scotland that fascinates me most.

A quiet sunset somewhere in the mountains of Roland.

This shot was taken handheld in the final moments before darkness took over the landscape, no tripod, just patience, steady hands, and a bit of luck.

The fading light, the snowy peaks, and the lonely cabin beneath the mountains created one of those rare moments that feel almost unreal.
Sometimes the best images are the ones you almost didn’t tage.

Chasing conditions like these is the reason I keep coming back to the mountains.

This sunrise in Slovakia was anything but easy. Freezing temperatures, multiple failed attempts, early alarms, and long drives before dawn.

But on this particular morning, everything finally aligned.

The soft golden light, the dramatic clouds rolling above the landscape, and the first light touching the snowy peaks created one of those rare moments that remind you why patience matters so much in landscape photography.

Sometimes nature rewards persistence in ways you can never plan.

These are exactly the kind of moments I want to share during my upcoming photography workshops in 2026, exploring incredible locations, chasing unique weather conditions, and learning how to capture scenes beyond a simple snapshot.
