People ask me all the time why I stopped pursuing photography full-time.

The truth is, somewhere along the way, I realized God wasn’t calling me to build a career around senior portraits, weddings, or constantly filling a calendar with sessions.

He started pulling my heart somewhere else.

Toward marketing.
Toward storytelling.
Toward churches and ministries.
Toward small businesses.
Toward people and communities that deserve to be seen.
And, obviously, toward libraries. 🤎📚

Photography never really left my life.
It just became a tool for something bigger.

Recently, I got to photograph a Disability Inclusive VBS…where I was BLESSED to capture individuals being welcomed, included, celebrated, and loved exactly as they are!

And moments like these remind me why God redirected me.

I still don’t completely know what He is building with all the random gifts He’s given me…photography, writing, marketing, storytelling, motherhood, ministry…
(Some days I feel so lost)
But every day I get another little glimpse of a bigger picture.

And honestly, I’m so grateful I stopped chasing what I thought my career was supposed to look like and started paying attention to where God was actually leading me. 🤎

I may or may not already have my weekend reading plans figured out. 🤭📚✨

I’m so excited to finally dive into Between the Stars and House of Hallock by my incredibly talented friend, Musi Trappe !

There is something extra special about getting to hold a book in your hands that someone you know poured their heart, imagination, and countless hours into. Watching a friend chase a dream like this is just the coolest thing…🤎

And the best part? I get to take these beauties with me to have them signed at her upcoming book event! (September 5th The Gilded Page Literary Lounge TX )

If you’re local, you should come out, grab a copy of Between the Stars, meet Musi, and support a local author doing something pretty incredible!

Also, if you haven’t been to The Gilded Page yet, ADD IT TO YOUR LIST. I stopped by the other day and it is such a sweet little bookish spot. Definitely worth wandering around, finding your next read, and supporting a local bookstore while you’re there. 📚☕️(They also have COFFEE)

So proud of you, Musi. Seeing your name printed across the front of your own books is just… 😭👏🏼 What a beautiful thing to get to celebrate.

The final chapter… but not the end of the story.

Freeport, you were the perfect place to “end” this journey.
A library rooted in history, filled with stories, and held together by people who genuinely care about their community.

Over the past 12 stops, I’ve learned this:
Libraries aren’t just buildings with books…
they’re places that grow us. Stretch us. Challenge us.
Sometimes all at once!

This may be the last stop in the Brazoria County series…
but it’s not the last time I’ll be showing love to the places that shape our communities.

So tell me…
