Cayden, Class of 27, Baraboo

Not every senior session has to be over the top... sometimes simple is exactly right. 👏

Cayden knew what he wanted from the start—a laid-back evening in a place that means something to him.

So we started at Devil’s Lake, one of his favorite places. If you know the staff out there, you might even understand the legendary “Sir!”... but I’ll let them keep that inside joke. 😄

From there, we made our way along the Riverwalk and stopping near Circus World for a completely different look. Somewhere between the photos, we spent just as much time cracking jokes and talking about life as we did taking pictures.

That’s honestly one of my favorite parts of these sessions. By the end of the evening, it doesn’t feel like a photoshoot anymore—it just feels like hanging out.

Of course, we couldn’t leave out one of the biggest parts of Cayden’s story... hockey. Since there wasn’t any ice this time around, we’ll be meeting up again this winter to create a second chapter of his senior session where he feels right at home.

Congratulations, Cayden! Thanks for a great evening, the laughs, and for showing me a few of your favorite spots around Baraboo. I can’t wait to hit the rink this winter. 🏒

Alexa Class of 27, Necedah, WI

Apparently, give Alexa a zero-turn mower and she’s happy! Unfortunately we didn’t have one for her session though.

But that’s just one of the many things that makes Alexa... Alexa.

She’s a volleyball player, a CNA, an animal lover, an amazing big sister, and after graduation she’ll continue college to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse/ultrasound tech.

We started her senior session downtown with a mix of classic portraits and a few casual volleyball photos to celebrate a sport that’s been a big part of her high school years. From there, we chased the evening light through fields of wildflowers before ending the night the best way possible... getting in the water for a few of my favorite images from the session. ( sorry the best ones are saved for later )

I love when a senior session has a little bit of everything—portraits that feel timeless, moments that reflect who they are, and a willingness to have a little fun along the way. Alexa was all in from start to finish, and I think these photos capture her perfectly.

Congratulations, Alexa! Wishing you all the best as you continue your journey toward becoming a nurse. I have no doubt you’ll make a difference in a lot of lives. 🤍

Some people are hard to sum up in one sentence... Rachel is definitely one of them. 🌾✨

She’s a musician, an athlete, and someone who genuinely loves serving others. In fact, she’ll be heading to Guatemala on a mission trip with her church before starting college, where she’ll be studying nursing with the goal of becoming a licensed midwife.

Oh... and she can play the accordion.

I don’t know why, but I feel like that deserves its own sentence. 😂

When we planned her session, Rachel wanted something light, bright, and natural. We kicked things off with about a one-mile hike into her favorite spot at Mirror Lake, and I’d say the walk was well worth it. From there we found a beautiful flower field and then we finished the evening where so much of her story has been written—on the track and cross-country course—capturing one more side of who she is before this next chapter begins.

While most of us think running a mile sounds like plenty, Rachel runs 10 miles for fun and is already preparing for her first full marathon. I guess we all have different definitions of “fun.” 😅

Congratulations, Rachel! I have no doubt you’re going to make a difference wherever life takes you.

Yesterday was Dayana’s senior session, and even though I usually see her in full hockey gear on the ice, this time she traded skates for flowers, fields, and summer dresses.

She admitted she was a little shy when we started (which is completely normal), but after a few minutes she settled in, trusted the process, and absolutely crushed her session.

We mixed dreamy wildflowers with a little downtown vibe to give her a variety of looks, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with how these turned out.

Thanks for sweating it out with me in the crazy heat , Dayana! I can’t wait to share more from your session. 🎓

It’s often preached that when you “go pro” you lose your creative side. And maybe people are right. But who says you can’t get your groove back? Let me know in the comments what you guys think? Too much edit? Just right? Should I do more like this?

Why is editing important? Madeline is in the shade, the fountain is in mid day bright sun. We used off camera flash to balance them a little the rest was bumped up those colors because colors are friends!

Turning everything you see into a great location. Even when there is a truck in the way and you gotta be in traffic to get the shot! 🤷‍♂️

I doooon’t know!! If you’ve ever been in front of a camera you know how your mind can go blank and not understand what the photographer is telling you. That’s ok though!! I’ll do my best to walk you through it!
