Late last year I had honor to meet Tony Napolitano at an MCLA event where he works as an Employer Relations/Internship Coordinator for the students preparing them to enter the workforce. While shooting a senior student headshot event at the library I introduced myself and had mentioned while talking that I’m on the Board of Directors at the Rescue Squad in Bennington, and that it would be good to connect for possible internship opportunities.
He then told me how much he was impressed and moved by the empathy of a young EMT who not only was very compassionate in her calls for his family, but then made the effort to show up at his dad’s memorial service one winters night with her newborn baby on her hip to pay her respects. He said it really moved him that she took the time after hours to do that and it really stuck with him.
I had been wanting to figure out a way to share that story and asked him if he would be willing to stop in and record a testimonial, and he graciously agreed. I hope you find it as moving as I did and it really shows how much our crew members are much more than highly-trained EMS professionals but also neighbors helping neighbors with empathy and compassion when we need them most.
