while on the trip I had my first breakdown. I had just pulled through the city of Mankato, Kansas and I thought to myself gosh I should’ve checked in with my buddy PJ Garst as I rolled through. Then the car died. A couple minutes later a truck pulled up to see if I needed help and of course it was PJ and his brother. They towed me back to town and hooked me up with a local mechanic. We got a rotor from a closed parts store that opened up just for me, we got a distributor body out of an old wheat truck in a field, and he cobbled a distributor back together after the top bushing in mine had failed. I made it to the center of the United States marker a few hours later and continued on my way towards South Dakota.

I was in Wichita for the trip. I shot photos of Michael B’s radical 34, then I swapped out an exhaust gasket on the Galaxie, and then the club served tacos at the host hotel for the show. It was a good day.
