Sneak peek from my first Iowa wedding! 🥳

After 15 years of capturing weddings primarily in Southern California, I’m officially living in Eastern Iowa and just had the honor of shooting my first wedding here. I’m so grateful to this special couple for trusting me with these memories.

The scenery here is definitely a different vibe than what I’ve been used to, from the Mississippi River to the quaint, historic downtowns, and I love it! I’m so excited for this new adventure my photography is about to go on!

As a long time portrait photographer, I’ve noticed that many families gradually take family photos less and less as their kiddos grow older. It brings me so much joy when I get to photograph families at all ages and stages. Whether you have toddlers, teenagers, or your kids have families of their own, these photos truly are special. I’m excited to get to know some families in the Midwest this year. 🫶🏼

The last session I did before officially moving from SoCal to Iowa last weekend, and they couldn’t have picked a lovelier location. 🥲

I’ll still be taking SoCal sessions here and there throughout the year. I’ll be sure to post when I have trips planned to go back for a visit! UPDATE: Life has been WILDLY busy. Next Thursday, I officially pack up, hit the road, and head to my new home in the Iowa Quad Cities. Between packing, wedding planning, and spending as much time as I can with my SoCal family & friends, on top of the normal life things like editing galleries and prepping for taxes, I’m doing the best I can to keep up! If I’ve been slow to get back to an email or message from you, my deepest apologies. And for my clients who I’ve done sessions for recently, you’ll still be getting your galleries back in the same delivery window that was promised! I haven’t forgotten about you. Thank you all for your patience, kindness, and support. More work and life updates to come! 🫶🏼

Anniversary sessions are some of my favorites to shoot. Not really for much reason related to photography itself, but for the joy they bring on a more personal level. Spending time with couples who, years after the engagement shoot and wedding day, are STILL crazy about each other and are celebrating their relationship really is impactful. These couples prove that, despite imperfection, love can endure and marriage can be one of the most beautiful gifts. Continue to celebrate one another, to be each other’s best friend, to remain partners, and to love one another.

This couple in particular tends to do an anniversary session every year in different places. It was an honor to be the one to document their most recent anniversary in a place so special to them.🫶🏼

Basically a whole month late on this, but I wanted to be sure to take a moment to acknowledge the people that made 2025 as awesome as it was in so many ways. While I get ready to pack up and move to a very different part of the country, naturally there’s a lot of reflection and appreciation that come along with my preparations. Since 2009, I’ve been able to work with SO MANY INCREDIBLE PEOPLE. I’ve been able to experience (and capture) so many beautiful places, stunning sunsets, and special moments in your lives. I appreciate everyone who has made that possible for me. As always, a special thank you to all of you who allowed me the opportunity to capture something for you in 2025! Above are just a few shots that felt special to me.

LIFE UPDATE (for those unaware): In about 6 weeks, I’ll be leaving Southern California and moving to Eastern Iowa (area aka The Quad Cities), where I’ll get to marry my soon to be husband. I do plan to visit SoCal to see family and friends when I can throughout the year, which will allow me to schedule limited SoCal shoots and weddings! So please don’t hesitate to reach out to book something when you need to! If I’m unable to schedule something when you need, then I’ll happily point you to someone awesome who can. 🥰

This also means that my photography business will now be based in Davenport, IA! If your photography needs are taking place in the Midwest, I’ll be so excited to hear from you! 😍

It’s been a HOT MINUTE since I’ve shared a collection of reception photos, but I imagine those are some of the most photos for couples to see for the first time! Blake & Jennifer’s wedding was extra special. Not only was it my last wedding of 2025, but my last wedding in SoCal before moving to the Midwest. 🥹

I’m excited for all of the couples I’ll get to meet and work with in this next chapter! Wherever it may take place, it’s not too late to reach out and book your 2026 wedding!✨
