🖤 WHY I SHOOT WEDNESDAY 🖤

When you book a session with me, I know you’re trusting me with your family.

But what you may not realize is that you’re also helping me take care of mine.

Every session booked.
Every post shared.
Every person who recommends my name.
Every family who comes back and trusts me again…

It all comes home to them.

It helps pay for the groceries that disappear approximately 14 minutes after I buy them. 😂
It helps with school things, family days, unexpected expenses, and the little moments I get to say “yes” instead of “maybe next time.”

It helps me build something my boys can watch me be proud of.

And maybe most importantly, it lets me show them what it looks like to chase something you love — even when you already have a full-time job, a family to raise, a house to run, and approximately 47 other things demanding your attention.

This is my why.

I don’t shoot because I want to become some huge, fancy photography business.

I shoot because I love freezing pieces of people’s lives that they can never get back.

I shoot because creating something beautiful makes my soul happy.

And I shoot because every time someone chooses TSloan Photography, they’re choosing this little family standing right here.

So when you book with me, please know I don’t see your name pop up on my calendar and think, “another client.”

I think:

Someone chose me. Someone trusted me. Someone is helping this dream keep going.

And I will never, ever take that lightly.

We pay attention. Because your family deserves that. 🖤

Photography is constantly changing. Social media is changing. AI is changing. And as photographers, we believe part of our job is paying attention to those changes — especially when they could affect the families who trust us.

When you step in front of our camera, you’re trusting us with more than a pretty picture. You’re trusting us with your babies, your memories, and pieces of your life that matter deeply to you.

We don’t take that lightly.

So as we learn more, we’ll adjust. We’ll ask questions. We’ll change our practices when we need to. Not because it’s trendy, but because caring for our clients doesn’t stop when we put the camera down.

Your galleries aren’t changing. Your babies will still be photographed exactly as they are — smiles, silly faces, tiny details and all. 🖤

We’re simply becoming more intentional about what we choose to share publicly.

Because at the end of the day, TSloan Photography may have taken the photograph, but that memory belongs to your family first. Always.

🚨 “BUT THEY’RE MY PHOTOS… WHY CAN’T I HAVE THE RAW FILES?” 👀

OHHHHH, we’re going there today. 😂

📸 TSLOAN TUESDAY TALKS: WHY DON’T PHOTOGRAPHERS GIVE OUT RAW FILES?

This is probably one of the most misunderstood things in photography, so let’s talk about it.

“Can I have the RAW files?”

Short answer: No. 🖤

Long answer? Let’s get into it. 👀

A RAW file is basically the digital negative straight from my camera. It contains a TON of information, but it isn’t the finished photograph you hired me to create.

When you book TSloan Photography, you’re not just paying me to show up, press a button, and hand over whatever came out of the camera.

You’re hiring me for the entire process.

📷 Choosing the right settings.
📷 Finding the light.
📷 Composition.
📷 Directing and prompting.
📷 Sorting through hundreds of images.
📷 Choosing the strongest moments.
📷 Color correcting.
📷 Cropping and straightening.
📷 Removing distractions.
📷 And finally—giving each image the TSloan look you booked me for.

The RAW file is the ingredient.
The finished gallery is the meal. 👏🏻

And trust me, you do NOT want me walking into your kitchen, handing you some flour and eggs, and saying, “Thanks for your money! Good luck!” 😂

Editing is a huge part of my art. It’s where I take what we created together in camera and turn it into the moody, emotional, true-to-TSloan images you saw in my portfolio and fell in love with.

It’s also why I don’t deliver every single photo I take.

Somebody blinked.
Someone’s talking.
The focus missed.
I took six versions to get THE ONE.
Or I caught you halfway between expressions looking like your soul briefly left your body. 😂

Those images aren’t missing from your gallery.

They did their job by helping me create the ones that ARE.

So when you receive your finished gallery, you’re not getting “some of your pictures.”

You’re getting the photographs I intentionally selected and finished to represent you, your story, and my work.

That’s the difference between taking pictures and creating a finished gallery. 🖤✨

THE RUNAWAY BRIDE.

A wedding dress. A long veil. Bare feet. Messy hair. Smudged makeup. A half-destroyed bouquet.

Running down an empty road at dusk like you just left your entire life behind.

Veil flying. Sitting in the middle of nowhere. Flowers scattered. Maybe some car headlights once the sun goes down.

Part dreamy.
Part dark.
Part “what the hell happened at that wedding?” 😂

And here’s the catch:

We NEVER explain the story.

Did she run from the groom?
Did she change her mind?
Is she running FROM something?
…or is something coming after her? 👀

I want it cinematic, moody, romantic, and just a little unsettling.
