A Daily Thought – Restroom?

As I go about my days, weeks, and months, I see signs for restrooms from time to time in public buildings, stores, restaurants, and other places. Occasionally, when other thoughts don’t occupy my gray matter, I’ll wonder why “restroom” no one is resting there. No one usually bathes there as well, so the title "bathroom" is out too. They used to be called, and in some cases still are, laboratories; there may be a chemical reaction going on, but let’s not talk about that....

A while back, representatives from Dracut Arts contacted me to ask if I would be interested in taking part in an online art show. Well, of course I said yes.

Dracut Arts is a community-based online art organization based in Dracut, Massachusetts.

From their website- “Four times a year, we hold an Arts Saturday: a visual artist gallery, an author reading and discussion, and a performance. Many different types of art (we hope all) can fit into these three categories. Visual art can be anything from painting to photography to quilting to ceramics. Authors' books can be novels, poetry, comics, children's books, or memoirs. Performances can be music, dance, or theater.”

The golden yellow of the Sugar Maple watching the passing of time along the Downeast coast. A favorite tree of mine, providing a shady place to sit on a hot summer day, while also still able to hold on during the harsh winter storms.

Autumn on Megunticook Lake. Colors everywhere, even in the mirror-like reflection of the lake.

A place to relax and unwind as you walk through the woods and along the shore. The warm days of summer have long passed, and winter is quickly approaching, but we have fall to help us make the transition, especially on days like this recent one.
