👀Location scouting...the unaccounted for magic behind a smooth photography session ✨️

Mika was mid session with her favorite stuffy when she came over and shared it with me... followed by a snuggle I wasn't expecting.

Caught it on my Insta360, which apparently forgot how to auto-adjust exposure today. Yes, I pretty much cried when I saw the blown out footage. But don't worry, I don't let my DSLR make those decisions on its own, so the actual photos of this girl are perfection.

Meet Thomas O'Malley... one of our Real House Pets of the PNW calendar winners, and a cat with a story of survival and love behind him.

I got to photograph him exploring one of his favorite yards, and this social boy gave me so much to work with. He was clearly right at home.

My favorite moment? Watching him snuggle up to one of his favorite people, Heather. You could feel how much trust is there.

Can't wait to share more from this session. 🐾

Some behind the scenes fun from Jen, who caught these while I was working with Biscuit & Cheese (that's Cheese with dog-dad Craig).

Tough job, but someone has to do it 😉

Biscuit is going to be in the upcoming Pet Savers calendar... stay tuned for that one!

Big thank you to Biscuit's family for being such great sports during our session. So much fun.

We finally got our window with Clarissa and Honey (her gorgeous English Springer Spaniel) at Farragut... one of my favorite spots to shoot.

We rescheduled more than once because of the wildfire smoke, and I think we were both starting to wonder if it was ever going to come together.

Then the afternoon showed up perfect. Warm enough for the water to feel good, not so hot that Honey couldn't show off her action moves before settling into some snuggles with mom.

Clarissa's idea to get in the water with Honey is what gave us those surreal sunset shots... the kind you can't really plan for, they just happen.

The bond between these two was so clear the whole time. Easily one of my favorite sessions of the summer.

Now the hard part.. wall collection or single stunning showpiece?

Let's talk if you want a session like this one 🐾
