CIVIC ENGAGEMENT MAKES HEADLINES!
When Chambers collaborate, communities benefit!
The Kent Chamber of Commerce was proud to partner with the Covington Chamber Of Commerce - Covington, WA to host the 2026 Candidate Showcase, bringing together candidates from Washington's 5th, 33rd, and 47th Legislative Districts for an engaging, nonpartisan conversation about the issues impacting our region.
And we're excited to see election coverage featured on the front page of the Kent Reporter!
A special thank you to the Covington Chamber of Commerce for the collaboration and to Carmen Goers and Rod Myers for leading the conversation and creating an informative and engaging experience for candidates and attendees alike.
Why does this matter to our business community?
Because the decisions made by our elected officials directly impact the environment in which businesses operate, employees work, and families thrive.
From workforce development and transportation infrastructure to public safety, taxes, housing affordability, and economic development, public policy plays a critical role in the success and sustainability of our local economy.
Our businesses cannot afford to be disconnected from the conversations shaping their future.
As Chambers of Commerce, our responsibility goes beyond networking and ribbon cuttings. We have a responsibility to bring people together, elevate the voice of business, encourage informed civic participation, and create opportunities for meaningful dialogue with those seeking public office.
This event was about education, access, and engagement—not political endorsements.
Thank you to every candidate who participated, every community member who attended, and everyone who recognizes that **a thriving business community and a thriving community go hand in hand.**
